UPDATE 19NOV08: A reporting error prevented scores in the Gears of War 2 Wingman Assault Tournament from being recorded on the "Wingman Public / All-Time" leaderboard during the Tournament Period. Instead, scores were recorded on the "Wingman / Weekly" leaderboard.
In the interest of fairness to the Tournament participants who were tracking their progress using the "Wingman Public / All-Time" leaderboard, we will award the advertised prizing to the top 10 eligible players on the "Wingman Public / All-Time" leaderboard and the "Wingman Public / Weekly" leaderboard as of 11:59 p.m. ET on November 9, 2008.
Eligible players that placed in the top 10 on both leaderboard will be awarded only one (1) prize, but will be awarded the prize of greater value, if applicable.

The Wingman Assault Tournament is sponsored by Transporter 3, in theaters November 26. Jason Statham returns as Frank Martin, and this time he's hired by a criminal mastermind to go on a mission to deliver a "package." With Frank now electronically rigged, he must complete his mission or die!
The enhanced competitive multiplayer gameplay of Gears of War 2 over Xbox LIVE® introduces new modes, weapons, and a multitude of new maps. This 24-hour tournament is sure to attract some of the most talented Gears of War 2 players in the country, with the winner scoring a great Gears of War 2 prize package. To participate, just register your gamertag and then track your score on the leaderboard.
Before registering for the Gears of War 2 Wingman Assault Tournament, make sure your Xbox LIVE account information is accurate! Potential winners will be notified by the administrator and have their prizes shipped using the contact info (e-mail, phone, and address) on their Xbox LIVE® profile. If your contact info is not up-to-date you will be disqualified from winning a prize.

Tournament Registration
Registration is open from 12:01 A.M. Eastern time on October 28 until 11:59 P.M. (EST) on November 3, 2008. You MUST participate in the Tournament using the same gamertag that you used to register.
There are two ways to register for the tournament: Register your gamertag here insert registration link or by downloading the free Assault Weekend Registration Gamer Picture from Marketplace. To download the gamer picture:
- Sign in to Xbox LIVE and access the Xbox LIVE Marketplace,
- Select Game Store
- Select All Games
- Select Gears of War 2
- Select Assault Weekend Registration Gamer Picture Pack and select Confirm Download.
- Upon the successful completion of the download you will see a Thank You for Downloading message.
Tournament Play
Tournament play will begin on or around 12:01 A.M. (ET) on November 9, 2008, or whenever the Wingman Public Leaderboard is reset. During the Tournament Period, compete by playing Xbox LIVE matches on the Leaderboard. You will be ranked based on overall scores that are recorded and posted to the Leaderboard.
At approximately 11:59 P.M. (ET) on November 9, 2008, play will end and the Leaderboard will be recorded.
Record your score as follows:
- Enter Multiplayer from the Main Menu
- Ensure that the Match Type selection is set to Public Xbox LIVE
- Ensure that the Playlist selection is set to Wingman
- Press Start to search for a match
You can track your score as follows:
- From the Gears of War 2 Main Menu select War Journal
- Select Public Leaderboards
- Scroll left or right to find the Wingman leaderboard
- Scroll left or right to adjust the player and time frame filters (All-Time for Time Frame and My Stats for Player)
Winner Determination
On or around December 1, 2008, the top fifty players will be posted on the Gears of War 2 Wingman Assault Tournament website. The top ten highest ranking eligible players will be named the Overall Champion and nine Runners-Up, respectively.
Prizes
One Champion Prize and nine Runner-Up Prizes will be awarded.
