Gears of War All-Nighter Recap

Gears of War® was the All-Nighter on Xbox.com for January 26 and 27. A lot of Marcus Fenixes were playing on Xbox LIVE® from dusk to dawn, and we have some of their stories.

This was my first Xbox All-Nighter so I decided to stick it out all the way through, as I am writing this e-mail now at 6 A.M. I started playing at 6 P.M. and had nearly 12 hours of fragging in Gears. Loaded up on AMP and Cheez-Its, I put on a chainsaw massacre while meeting some awesome people along the way and getting my first weapons achievement at the same time. Needless to say, I made three good friends tonight who I will keep playing with. It really is a great way to meet some new people and have a lot of fun in the process.

I just wanted to give some feedback on the Gears All-Nighter. It was my brother's 16th birthday family-party, and my best friend was over, which obviously meant we'd be segregated from the party doing whatever we could to remove the heads of all the gamers online last night. I'm exSOLDlER, and my best-friend is Wallace03. He mostly got me to buy the game, a month after I bought my Xbox 360® (February last year). It's always been my favorite game, and I haven't hooked onto any other game (I'm always loyal to Gears).

It was a great night! Our longest single match of Annex was two and a half hours! We played for about five hours until midnight when the party was about over, then my friend departed and I got to bed at about 2 A.M. I woke up at 9 A.M. to get back in the fight. :D Thanks.

TheLegendary117's LAN parties look like fun.

What's up, Xbox.com? Name's Tom Garrett, my Gamertag is thelegendary117. I had a bunch of my friends over last night so we could all play Gears of War all night. I throw LAN parties almost on a weekly basis, and they are always a BLAST! My girlfriend and my two sisters even joined us and it was a ton of fun. The only problem was that the router we were using wasn't working right, so we had to play on our LAN but it was cool. We all had fun.

What a spread! Now I'm hungry.

My first Gears of War All-Nighter turned out to be great. Not all that great but fun. I began at 11 P.M. and ended it at 5:30 A.M. I did this and enjoyed it because I felt I was a part of something. Me and my fellow clan mates stayed up playing. We owned, we got owned, and we owned some more. I didn't get any achievements for my effort for which I'm disappointed. Overall it was great, and will do it again once this event comes back around.

WOW, what a night of curb-stomping, head-popping fun! From 8 P.M. till 6 A.M. straight, gaming on nothing but a little bit of Diet Pepsi and cranking the music off the iPod on my Xbox. The night started off with me and my buddy both getting chainsawed by a guy that was down on Canals. But things were over from there, as me and my buddy took the whole night with just a single loss on ranked matches. Overall awesome night! Thanks, Xbox LIVE!

This was my first Xbox All-Nighter, but it certainly won't be my last. Me and my friend IjustFART3D geared up for a night of the epic shooter, Gears of War. Boy let me tell you, it was a BLAST! We played from about 8:30 P.M. to about 3:45 A.M. and I can't believe it went by that fast. We were popping heads for about 6 hours STRAIGHT! It felt like ONLY a couple of hours. Well, this was a total blast, and I hope I can join into another one of these great Xbox All-Nighters.

All I can say is that it was AMAZING! I made it to 5 A.M. Another perfect All-Nighter! I met a ton of awesome people. There were a few hilarious parts (my team got owned by an 8-year-old) LOL! Anyway it was the best, and thanks to the Xbox LIVE team for putting this together. Can't wait for the next Gears All-Nighter!

My brother and I both received Xbox 360s for Christmas, but could not figure out how to get Xbox LIVE up and running. My brother took one last ditch chance to get it, and figured it out the night before the All-Nighter. That night at 9:00 P.M., we started our amazing journey of Xbox LIVE and Gears of War in online multiplayer matches.  Gears of War did not disappoint at all. From the first chainsaw kill all the way to the last curbstomp, it was sheer awesome! Total hours played was 7 hours and 5 minutes. It just flew by, making sure to take breaks for us and for the Xboxes every once in awhile. We finished and went to bed at 5:30 A.M. not wanting to stop, but knowing we needed to. I work nights and this was probably the best brotherly bonding experience we have had in a while. Hope to have more All-Nighters in the future, and possibly inviting friends over for the fun.
