GamerSpeak:Halo 3 All-Nighter RecapPublished October 4, 2007 Halo fans finally got their hands on Halo® 3, and we challenged you to play all night long and let us know what happened in our biggest All-Nighter event yet. Here's what the Halo Nation had to say about the experience: "I wanted to say thank you for hosting this on Saturday night into Sunday and what a great idea All-Nighters are. Prior to learning that you had made this event, I had set up a Halo 3 party with digital projectors which was taking place on Saturday night into Sunday morning with eight of my friends. I just really wanted to say thank you for thinking up all the All-Nighter ideas and I think they are awesome. Thanks Xbox LIVE!" "I'm really happy that you guys and Bungie came up with the game called Halo. I'm loving this all-nighter. I've been playing since 9 last night. And I've made a crapload of friends. The XBL community is just great. And there were a lot of kool guys on last night. Once again thanks guys!!" "I have played Halo 3 all day and all night ever since I first got it on the day of release which is also my first day of being an Xbox LIVE member. I love the match making battles and team battles. I don't have much to say on it right now other than how about I send another e-mail when I finally finish playing it hahaha. I can only spare 5 minutes from my battle just to send this … I'm hooked!!!!!" "I had a very great time playing Halo 3 tonight; I played for about 5 hours and had some fun/weird experiences. From singing Christmas carols with The Decode and Camerun to making a forge map that kills you right at spawn with CARLOS422 and TheMarioKarters, good times …" "I started to play Halo at around 12:00 pm and played to 1 pm. 13 hours that's the most of any game I have ever played but it's OK I had nothing else to do … But my main goal for today was to beat Halo 3 and I did it. I played the last level like 3 times because I just couldn't believe IT'S OVER but somehow I got over it. So then I met up with my Halo clan UGPC a.k.a GGB a.k.a PWB a.k.a PB. Yeah, we have changed our name a lot … so we played together forever must have been like 3-4 hours really just messed around having fun making movies and stuff. To Bungie and everyone associated with this awesome game, all the time and money you put into this game was worth it."
Spartan Helmet? Check. Energy drinks? Check. "Well, my night started off at 11 pm EST with my friend Darkcloud189. We messed around in matchmaking for awhile then decided to finish up our skull hunt which started about 12 am. We got up to the last silver skull, the so called "unfindable" skull. It took us about 2 hours to finally get the sequence of the rings but it was all worth it in the end to see the armor we earned. Then about 2 am, our friend Woger joined us for about an hour. We went into match making and played a lot of social games with people and what not. We made friends with 2 people throughout the night and they joined us in our party for awhile. Then everyone left, so I just messed around in match making for awhile. That was the last thing I remember before waking up to being in the pre-game lobby, haha. That's my all-nighter. Thanks Microsoft for an awesome service." "Hi, my name is Keri (ghost walking) and I pulled an all-nighter on the Halo 3 Marathon … I played nonstop from 7 P.M to 7 A.M. It was a grueling but fun 12 hour session. I made some new friends, and found out that hey, I'm not the only girl playing Halo 3. I like most people who play online, at times felt cheated in my kill ratio. I would use my weapon and butt someone in the head with it one time and they did not die, whereas someone does that to me and I drop like a sack of potatoes … or I unload a clip and use 2 frags and that person still stands, but they barely put any rounds into me and I fall … I have found out that most of the people have had the same issues, but the answer lies in skill, not luck … the other person who I unloaded a full clip into that still stands afterwards, he's probably got a little more skill than I can handle at this point, hahaha. "All in all, I had a blast playing Halo 3 … I grabbed 4 hours of sleep and now I'm ready to do it all over again … I'm not your average girl … I'm a girl who loves to play Halo 3." "Just want to start off by saying that Halo 3 is an awesome experience. I played for about 6 hours on Saturday night, the all-nighters thing. Made a few friends and met up with some that I haven't seen since I played Halo 2 online which was about a year ago. I like the little programs you run like the All-nighters and Ladies Night, that seems to get more people involved." "My husband and I played Halo 3 from 8pm-3am … 7 hours of blasting aliens in the campaign and getting killed a lot in multiplayer … I love to play games thanks to my husband getting me involved, and we regularly play together (so much so that we had to buy a second 360 so that we could both be playing and not have to be on a split screen all the time). So I stayed up with him and played until I couldn't stay awake any longer … Didn't do very well in the multiplayer but I think I actually did pretty good in the campaign … never played the game before last night, but we got through 6 levels on 'heroic' like it was the easiest thing to do. And I never died more than 8 times on any level … multiplayer is an entire different matter {which I don't care to discuss. haha!} … Anyway, thanks again for a really fun filled night, an excuse to stay up late playing games, but most of all, for a few hours to spend with my husband enjoying ourselves together unproductively yet very much spending 'quality time' with him—as well as everyone else out there who I got play with and made the night so much fun!! Thank you all!"
Cookies kept the Halo 3 party going. "Hello there! My name is Matt Davis and my gamertag is PretyHateMachin. I had my own Halo party at my house during the all-nighter. It was great. Around 600,000 other people were on too that night and we just had a blast playing online multiplayer! For my Halo 3 party, I ordered some pizzas, had Halo 3 Mountain Dew, and even baked my own Halo 3 themed cookies. I had about 10 people over in my small apartment. But we had a blast! We played until about 2 a.m. and then the last guest left. But I continued to play until about 4 a.m. before I fell asleep on the couch with the 360 controller in my hand. Then I woke up and started playing again right there! It was a blast and I took a few pictures. Check them out and definitely check out my cookies!" "Ah man, the all-nighter was great. Imagine 20 people in a small apartment with one 42-inch hi-def T.V and another 32-inch standard T.V and the apartment is really small. "Man it was great. We stayed up all night and played. My neighbors almost called the cops because of all the noise. My landlord called me like 3 times to bring the noise level down. But you know what they said 'If the neighbors complain about the noise, turn it up until they move …' But yea, I can't wait until the next Halo 3 all-nighter. Me and my friends are really looking forward to it. If I don't get kicked out of our apartment … |
