Gears of War All-Nighter
The most recent Xbox All-Nighter took place on New Year's Eve and featured Gears of War®. We got a lot of great emails recapping the experiences. Husbands and wives played together, a couple broke up over a headset, a new dad stayed up with his baby, achievements were earned, people spent the night in jail, and one guy got whipped cream in his ear. Read on for all the sticky details … and a poem!
My New Year's Eve Gears of War party was a blast. We had 4 Xbox 360s going and we were pwning all throughout the night and into the New Year. For the countdown, we all stood in up in a game and rev'd our chainsaws and let the enemy shoot us down! Our first sacrifice for 2007. The entire night was a blast, 'cept for Joel sprayed whip cream in my ear when I dozed off for a minute around 5 A.M.!

H, e, double hockey sticks yeah! The GoW all-nighter was awesome. We were unable to meet the sun in the morning, but nonetheless enjoyed the perks of owning an Xbox 360™ and being a member of Xbox Live®. Thanks again to all the Xbox® peeps who made the gaming night possible and here's to a great 2007.

I had a great New Years playing Gears of War. Got the wife and kids to bed by 10:30 and proceeded to play Gears until 3:30 a.m. I got my Xbox as a gift for Christmas, and after not playing video games for more than 10 years (too busy raising kids) I have to say that I am once again hooked! I played Gears of War all night playing a campaign with a nice couple from Minnesota! Before I knew it, it was dawn! I had a blast; this game rules!

I started my epic journey on Gridlock, running the show, instructing my team on what would be the best way to take care of things. Grabbing the boomshot I murdered a guy at sniper spawn, meanwhile I was being stalked by none other than a deadly chainsaw. Frantically trying to win, we rushed them, only to find out they knew we were coming. We died a pitiful death. My hopes of getting this achievement weren't splattered all over the ground like my once livid body was, though. Instead I plunged on into a game on Tyro Station, where once again we dominated half the game, only to find out my team had pulled themselves together. Starting by disabling their Torque Bow, we went after every major weapon. The only person left was a lone gunner in the far east corner, grasping his shotgun with the little hope he had left. "Oh yeah, last kill," I thought to myself, running up to him. Only to see the Hammer of Dawn being started up by one of my teammates, who thought I couldn't finish him off. Well his instincts were right, as I plunged at him, while getting my beautiful COG leader face blown to pieces. Kicking the New Year of 2007 off with my friends was the best part fun I could have had.

Around 12:35 am my boyfriend got on his 360 and I got on mine to play Gears of War! We joined a room together and invited some friends and people were coming in saying Happy New Year to everyone. People were really friendly! Maybe because it was a holiday, or maybe because they were drunk. After playing a few rounds someone joined our room. COMPLETELY WASTED. He was singing and making up songs and saying the most random things, making everyone laugh. I don't know what it was, maybe he was making their team laugh so much they couldn't play. But he was the only one getting kills on their team! It was insane! Whoever that guy was, I really hope he didn't pass out while gaming.
It was a really fun night to play. There was a good amount of gamers online and I even got to play with a GamerchiX which is always a lot of fun!

This is my bad ass new years! I brought my Gears of War game to a friend's place, started drinkin beers, and showin' him how to play cause he doesn't have the game yet. Anyway, finished the first level and all of a sudden two of my friends start wrestling around they take it outside and they got picked up by the police, spent the night in the drunk tank, and now they are the laughing stock of the pile. I later had a quick match (my first), remind you I'm half in the bag, I'm runnin' around and I kept getting killed by a frickin train. I never got to kill anybody, it was awesome and crappy at the same time.

The all nighter was amazing! It was good "family" fun for everyone. I started playing at 10:09 P.M. on December 31, 2006, paused for a good 6 minutes to watch the ball drop and then ended up playing until 7:23 A.M. January 1, 2007! I just wanted to say thank you I had a blast.

SO MUCH FUN. Lots of cheerful players and execution matches. Great night of chainsaws and head stomps. Good connection and lots of matches made the night really a "non-stop" "action-filled" countdown to 2007 and Gears of War's success.

My wife, BountyPlum, and I had a nice romantic dinner, then settled in for a night of Co-op GOW on Insane. We got through the first act and most of the way through the second. That is what I call a New Year's party …

A group of my friends and I decided to have a night of Gears, so we hooked up 4 TVs and were going to play the night away as a team in ranked matches. It started out as a blast, I got my chainsaw achievement around 9 P.M. and I was flying high. But right around 10 a bunch of girls (including my girlfriend) came over and instead of saying "Hey we're playing Gears, I'll call you later," I decided to do the sporting thing and try to teach her. In an epic battle to wear my mic my girlfriend broke it and I was furious (and that's putting it lightly). Long story short, I took her outside and as of then we were done. I went back inside and rigged my belt and mic together for one "ghetto" headset. As the clock was approaching midnight, 3 TVs had Gears and one had "The ball." While it was dropping it was starting to hit me and with about 10 seconds left I heard a ring at the door, opened it and there was a new wireless mic with a bow … And they all lived happily ever after.

That was one long and great event last night i had so much fun. From about 11:40 P.M. to when I stopped playing at 5:20 A.M. I played on a team with my friends QUIETFOX66, Chakat, and HappyWulf. We had fun talkin' and killing. Overall my friends and I had a great time, there should be more all-nighter events.

The Gears of War all-nighter on Xbox Live was a ton of fun. Two of my friends came to my house and we went from 10 'til 7 when the sun rose. It was a good chance to meet more friends and get some accomplishments completed. My friend dmaseth also invited a friend to his house so we had a good night on GOW. Overall, it was a very fun night and I would do it again!

Me and my wife had just split up recently. I'm forced to live with my parents and all my friends have left for college or the military. I'd tried everything I could to find somewhere to go on New Years. It just seemed like everywhere I turned there was disaster or disappointment. I ended up staying home with my parents. They went to sleep at 10 so I figured I'd get on Xbox Live to play the game I rented … Gears of War. I had no idea that there was a New Years Bash until I got on. There were tons of people on. I was in great game after great game. Everyone was just on to have fun. There were blood and body parts flying everywhere. It was freakin awesome. I never thought I could have so much fun by being by myself at home. It was so much fun in fact, that I didn't stop playing until five o'clock in the morning. I just wanted to say thanks for turning my New Year around. Keep up the good work. I hope to see another night that great soon!

I had great fun in the New Year's Eve Gears of War All-Nighter. I got into some great multiplayer matches with some excellent players. I killed and was killed often, and it was always entertaining. I'm proud that I earned the "Mix It Up" achievement while playing, too. The perfect capper on the night? My last kill during my last match of the night, I got a headshot with a sniper rifle. Awesome. :)

Tonight was SOOOOO awesome! I played ALL NITE and into the day, yup, I played until about 8:40 A.M., tonight was DEFINATELY one of the most intense nights of gaming. Thank you Microsoft for providing me and millions of people with fun times, well I can't wait for another fun Gears of War event like this on Xbox Live, I'm sure it will have a hard time competing with the level of excitement this New Years brought to me.

My friends and I totally played Gears of War all night, and they even got pissed at me for taking a food break, but a man's gotta eat! They wussed out and went to bed around 4 A.M. though, I think it was because I stomped 4 of them out in one round by myself. Then I challenged people on the ranked matches for a couple hours before passing out.

Last night, my wife (yes, MY WIFE) and I were playing Gears for about 6 hours with a bunch of great people in player matches. There were tons of crazy moments, (making an opponent jump out in front of the train is always a blast), but the absolute highlight for us was during a 4 on 4 match in Warzone. I was starting to get pretty aggressive against the competition. Sitting in cover just wasn't gonna cut it. So I ran up around the troika and saw one of them behind that building up there. Shouting his location to my teammates, I dodged around the building all gung-ho, Chuck-Norris style and ended up right smack in the middle of 3 of those COG bastards. It must have been a glitch, but I was effectively shotgunned, chainsawed and then curb-stomped to death. Their posse must have felt pretty good about that UNTIL MY WIFE CAME UP BEHIND THEM AND CHAINSAWED ALL OF THEM FROM BEHIND! HAHAHA! That was a moment to remember for the rest of my life!

With a new baby in the house I was happy to see the Gears of War all nighter event. I didn't have a big party or anything like that—but that is the great thing about Xbox Live, you can play with a friend without having anyone in your house to steal your drinks and food. =) I showed up a bit later then expected—my wife decided to stay up much later then usual, but then I dove right into the action.
Just before the final hour of 2006 my daughter woke up for one of her night time feedings—so time for a break.
I had a blast and met quite a few new friends.

ALL AMERICAN 7, ChrisTyre, MIJO 03, Renegade100, SILENT CELL 9, John Andrews, Jenn Andrews 79, Krude Methodz and myself DIKDADDY 82 started early off and on, from 8 P.M. 'til around 5 A.M. We all were from different areas of the United States. Some of us stayed on while the ball dropped to just show our support for the game.

OMGSH, this is the best new year I have ever had. There was so many people playing Gears of War on Xbox Live I just couldn't believe it. I got my rank all the way up to the top 100 weekly from playing all night. Gears of War is the only game I'll be playing for the Xbox 360 until Halo 3 or GoW2 comes out. I'm like the number one fan of Gears of War. Anyway, I am so happy that I got all the achievements while at it, EXCEPT for the SERIOUSLY acheivement. Thanx and I hope this All-Nighter thing doesn't end. "Gears of War 24/7 Baby!"
