Your Xbox 360 Soundtrack

What do you listen to while you game? Do you create your own custom soundtracks for individual games? Me, I listen to Bach's harpsichord concertos while I'm playing The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion. But when I get my Zuma on, it's solemente Machito and Tito Puente for me. I asked Xbox.com forum readers to reveal their soundtracks for Xbox® gaming. I've never spent a single dime on music in my entire life, I used to play clarinet in my high school band, I occasionally like to listen to our performance at the Canadian Music Festival which received top honours. There's nothing like nostalgia to get you in the mood for playing Oblivion. As if I need any encouragement to play Oblivion! Mostly I listen to the in-game music, but if I were going to buy some music it would be classical or jazz.

Well I mainly listen to heavy metal. Stuff like Soulfly, Chimaira, Pantera, Metallica, Wednesday 13, Murderdolls, Trivium. I have over 60 bands I listen to, all on my computer. I make custom soundtracks on my computer which I burn onto CD for a CD player … no Xbox 360™ unfortunately.

Hey TriXie, great thread! Music is probably my first love so it’s great to have an excuse to post about it on Xbox.com. This is my Perfect Dark Zero™ list; I've tried to balance it out between upbeat loud music and chilled out soft music, as usually my PDZ games follow these kind of emotions, which is excitement at the start, nervousness in the middle, and sadness at the end when I realize my score has gone into minus figures! Here's my PDZ playlist copied directly from WMP, I think this reflects my emotional rollercoaster well.

I’ve got the perfect mix for any game. First I play Return to Innocence to get me zoned into the game. Next I play some Cascadia to get my reactions quicker. Then I play my trance mix (Engima, DJ Venom, Rammstein, and Prezioso). Once I get to my trance mix, I’m completely zoned into the game.

I listen to a wide range of music when I'm playing video games. I usually listen to Nirvana, Korn, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, Breaking Benjamin, and Rage Against the Machine. When I'm playing Oblivion I like to listen to Trans-Siberian Orchestra 'Beethoven's Last Night'it's the only soundtrack that really works for Oblivion.

Long time, no talk… I won the “Favorite Download from Marketplace drawing". BTW – I bought Astropop and Feeding Frenzy with the points card. AWESOME!!!

Anyway, what I do for soundtracks is load a whole eclectic mix of my CDs from techno to standards. I play the entire lot on random play. Some of the random song combinations are really hilarious. For example, having “We Are in Love” by Harry Connick, Jr. kick off just as I’m about to sneak attack someone in Halo® 2 is priceless.

I also have a bunch of Tripod (Australian Comedy Band Import), which is always funny.
