E3 – The Coverage

Now that E3 2006 is over, we asked Xbox Live® members in the Xbox.com forums their opinion on our coverage of the biggest event in gaming. Here's a sample of the responses.

TriXie's interview with Athena Twin was hot and Major's vlog of Xbox behind the scenes (when TriXie is in the cabinet) and the one about the technology of the Xbox booth were very good, as well. It is amazing how much time and planning went into the event and from what I saw, and have been reading, it was very successful for Microsoft.

I would have liked Xbox.com to have the full press conference on it, and right as/after it happened, like last year. I loved all the coverage on Marketplace, though.

Awesome job with the coverage, only thing that woulda made it better would be a web browser on Xbox 360™, so I wouldn't have to go on my computer, Live coverage on Xbox 360 would've been sweet, like internet TV or sumtin.

I think overall the Xbox.com coverage was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the coverage on-demand and the HD-DVD information. I would have liked to see more information about the upcoming Xbox Live Arcade games. Specifically, listings and possibly mini-sites for the new games coming. A release time table would be helpful.

You guys did a great job! The coverage was great! I was able to access what I wanted, whenever I wanted! I could access articles, pictures, and even videos that were informative and well done! I think I speak on behalf of every Xbox® gamer when I say: great job and thanks for keeping us informed!

All the coverage was great. I would have liked more Marketplace content though. It also would have been nice if you guys had shed some light on the Live Anywhere stuff. Overall, you guys did great. I got most of what I wanted and nothing less, or more. LOL, jk.

Would've enjoyed footage of the actual H3 trailer being shown, not just an edit to the trailer itself (maybe you did this and the crowd was completely quiet?). I enjoyed the H2 trailer and hearing the crowd cheer and "wow ... "

Best coverage I've seen anywhere. I told my friends all the info you guys gave me. And they thanked me for it. And was wondering on how I got all this information. I told 'em I have a good source and can't give it out. A bit selfish but hey :-p And BTW, my friends say thank you.

The absolute best coverage. No other site would take suggestions on things to get info for and post them up on the site or directly speak right back to you about it! daStahl is da-man.

I would have liked more information and less presentation, although having both would be awesome too.

G4's coverage was very bad. I got more out of E3 from Xbox.com than any other place. Keep up the good work.

The coverage on Xbox.com was fantastic and just what I was looking for! Being in the UK the only E3 coverage we can get is through what internet sites can give us and yours was the best of the lot. I loved the exclusive interviews and game trailers you hosted. The only criticism I have is I would have liked to hear the crowd's reaction to the Halo® 3 trailer.
