Bullet Witch

Sublime Chaos

At A Glance
  • We get our hands on Atari's new shooter, Bullet Witch.

There is a distinct line that can be drawn between types of shooters. Some focus more on slower tactical gameplay, like Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® Vegas, and then there are more traditional shooters, which focus purely on all-out action. Bullet Witch™, an exciting new title from Atari is the latter, mixing guns, magic, and the constant chaos of combat with a dash of sassy style for an exciting and unique offering on Xbox 360™.

The Fate of Humanity
After suffering through a series of progressively catastrophic events (earthquakes, war, plague), humanity has one last terror to deal with. A crazed army of demonic soldiers is scouring the earth. The death toll is "uncountable," and the only thing standing in the way of the army's total dominion over Earth is Alicia, the mysterious Bullet Witch herself.

With a classic sense of epic drama, Bullet Witch thrusts you into the titular role and pits you against the attacking demon armies. Where you come from and why this is your job alone is revealed slowly along the way, so the only way for you to discover your purpose is to plow your way through hundreds, if not thousands, of enemies.

Hybrid Gameplay
Bullet Witch is a third person shooter and the basic mechanics play like any classic entry in the genre. You move with the left analog stick, aim and look with the right, and use the right trigger to fire.

Bullet Witch separates itself from the field by combining the basic mechanics with magic abilities and acrobatics. With the right shoulder button you can call upon your supernatural abilities to throw cars and other objects with the power of your mind, summon protective walls, heal the fallen, and call down devastating lightning attacks. Use the left shoulder button to perform elegant flips and cartwheels, avoiding attacks and positioning yourself for a better attack vantage.

Upgrade Evolution
You can upgrade your current abilities and weapons, or even purchase new ones with points at the end of each level. These points are awarded to you based on your performance, such as kills, your own deaths, accuracy, etc.

Addendum
A downloadable content option is built right into the menu system, so we can look forward to add-ons, but you will also find leaderboard ranking in the menu as well. Like many classic shooters, half the fun is bragging about your best time or kill total. With the leaderboard rankings, your bragging rights are built right into the game.

Bullet Witch is a great combination of fierce old-school action, and next-gen game polish, where the refined bells and whistles you expect from an Xbox 360 game are fully present.
