Trixie360 Interviews kiki kat

Published May 1, 2009

She's an Xbox MVP, a member of GamerchiX, and a contributor to both The Blue Skittle magazine and Breaking the Game podcast. Her son won the "My Mom's a Gamer" contest a couple years ago because he had THE COOLEST gaming mom. Say hi to kiki kat!

trixie360: What's the story behind your Gamertag?

kiki kat: It's kind of boring. My sister gave me the nickname Kiki years ago … and I like cats. Ergo, kiki kat.

trixie360: Where do you live?

kiki kat: I moved to beautiful Redmond, WA from Chandler, AZ less than a year ago and so far I love it!

trixie360: What do you do for a living?

kiki kat: I recently finished my Masters in Forensic Psychology and I am currently engrossed in the wonderful job of finding a job. So basically I am a bum!

trixie360: What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?

kiki kat: I was once hired through a temporary agency to work nights shredding papers for a former governor. No questions were asked.

trixie360: How long have you been on Xbox LIVE®?

kiki kat: Since the very beta! Originally I shared a gamertag with my son AvatarZ, but after we started fighting over who got to play, I had to get my own.

trixie360: Do you have an archenemy on Xbox LIVE?

kiki kat: Everyone who beats any of my scores in any arcade game is my archenemy. Currently I have the highest score of all my friends in Adventure mode in Peggle™. Mwahahaha!

Peggle sparks the competitive spirit in many.

trixie360: What's your Xbox setup like?

kiki kat: I purchased a 56-inch wide screen TV a couple years ago when I found myself sitting a foot away from the TV to find the COG tags in Gears of War®. So thank you, video games for convincing me to make one of the best/most used big item purchases of my life.

trixie360: What's the best feature of Xbox LIVE?

kiki kat: Definitely the Xbox LIVE arcade games! Playing Zuma® or Peggle or Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords™ is definitely zen time for me.

trixie360: What is your favorite multiplayer Xbox game?

kiki kat: I play so many multiplayer games, but my number one choice would have to be Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six® 3 since that was the game that got me addicted to Xbox LIVE.

trixie360: What is your favorite single player Xbox game?

kiki kat: Again I will have to go with a game that sucked me into the Xbox world and stole away a whole summer, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind®.

trixie360: What do you think is the best game of all time?

kiki kat: Sonic The Hedgehog™ by far!

trixie360: What do you think is the best film of all time?

kiki kat: There are way too many to choose from! I like tons of movies from Zoolander to A Little Princess to Die Hard!

kiki kat lost a summer to the lure of Morrowind.

trixie360: What do you think is the best album of all time?

kiki kat: 40oz. to Freedom by Sublime. I can listen to that album over and over and never get bored. Bradley Nowell had one of the best voices of all time.

trixie360: Rock Band or Guitar Hero?

kiki kat: Rock Band FTW!

trixie360: What's your favorite TV show?

kiki kat: I love reality shows, especially ones that involve some sort of physical and/or mental competition. So I would have to say Survivor and The Amazing Race.

trixie360: Who is your inner rock star?

kiki kat: Brody Dalle from The Distillers. She is gritty, raw, and sexy. Everything a rock star should be and everything I have hidden deep inside me!

trixie360: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

kiki kat: Courtney Love. She is hardcore and says "Dude!" a lot.

trixie360: What's your karaoke song?

kiki kat: "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights." But I can rarely find someone drunk enough to sing it with me!

It was Rainbow Six 3 that got her addicted to Xbox LIVE.

It was Rainbow Six 3 that got her addicted to Xbox LIVE.

trixie360: One summer in the Hamptons I was drunk enough to DANCE to that song. Try it. Favorite cartoon character?

kiki kat: Buttercup from the The Powerpuff Girls because she is hardcore, has a short temper, and likes to get in fights! All while still looking adorable.

trixie360: No. Buttercup is mine. What superpower would you like to have?

kiki kat: I will have to choose the old standby of the superpower to absorb any other superpower. Then I would have the one power to rule them all.

trixie360: That's a BS answer. FAIL! If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

kiki kat: Drew Barrymore. She is silly, doesn't take things seriously, has lived a crazy life, and grown into an awesome person. It would be fun to step into her shoes for a day.

trixie360: What celebrity would be the worst roommate?

kiki kat: I can't imagine any celebrity would be a good roommate, but Flava Flav would probably be one of the worst. He just grosses me out and calling out "FLLLAVVVAA FLAAAAAAV" would just get annoying after the first couple of days.

trixie360: How many people are on your Friends List?

kiki kat: It's always filled and I have to weed through it in order to add new people when I make new friends.

trixie360: Who's your favorite superhero?

kiki kat: Gambit from X-men. He has awesome style and is uber sexy!

She ranks the little blue guy at the top of her gaming list.

trixie360: Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?

kiki kat: Timothy Olyphant as the dude from the Hitman movies. I really dig the silent, disturbed ones.

trixie360: If you could be any video game character, who would it be?

kiki kat: Claire Redfield from the Resident Evil series. She has titles on the back of her jackets which are homages to the band Queen, carries a gun, kicks zombie butt, and still manages to look sexy while doing it all.

trixie360: What's the worst food you've ever eaten?

kiki kat: My son and I like to try new types of sushi and one day we had sea urchin. We watched the orange blob melting and spreading across the plate before even trying a bite. OMG it was the worst tasting thing I have ever eaten!

trixie360: What's the first video game you ever played?

kiki kat: Something on the Atari 2600. I was just a kid when my family bought one and I am sure we played Pong first. It was such an engrossing game that managed to stay popular throughout the years due to its intricate gameplay. (/sarcasm)

trixie360: What's the last book you read?

kiki kat: I read a lot and usually multiple books at once. Currently I have The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks in my purse … just in case.

Trixie, is THIS the achievement you seek?

Trixie, is THIS the achievement you seek?

trixie360: If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

kiki kat: Henry Rollins. We would kick back and talk about what real punk rock was like back in the day.

trixie360: What do you predict will be the "next big thing" in gaming?

kiki kat: Virtual gaming. Kind of like the world in the Otherland Series of books by Tad Williams.

trixie360: What do you think is the best thing about Xbox 360?

kiki kat: Everything. I am a total Xbox fangirl and will wax poetic about it to anyone that shows even a glimmer of interest about it.

trixie360: What is the Xbox 360 Achievement that was hardest to get?

kiki kat: The only achievement that I jumped up and down in joy for, took pictures of, and called my friends and family (who for some reason didn't find it as exciting as me) was the Sharpshooter achievement in Zuma (complete a level in 5 seconds or less). Hahahahaha Trixie, you don't have it!

trixie360: Grrrr. And you NEVER let me forget it! What would you like to be doing in ten years?

kiki kat: Ten years is too far in the future to think about. Right now I am still planning what I will be doing ten hours from now!
