Trixie360 Interviews CrzyNutz

Published April 22, 2009

He's a U.S. Marine with three tours in Iraq and a Purple Heart. When he's not serving his country, he serves up the hurt in the Call of Duty series and Resident Evil 5. Can I get an oorah for CrzyNutz?

trixie360: What's the story behind your Gamertag?

CrzyNutz: My best friend suggested I use that for a DJ name way back in the day when I used to DJ. I didn't use it. I joined the Marine Corps, went back home and there was a new "BIG" DJ using that name. That and I'm pretty crazy.

CrzyNutz

CrzyNutz.

trixie360: Where do you live?

CrzyNutz: Camp Pendleton, California.

trixie360: What do you do in the Marine Corps?

CrzyNutz: I am a 3531 and 3536.

Trixie360: Huh?

CrzyNutz: I'm a motor vehicle operator and a wrecker operator. So I drive and recover broke, blown up, stuck, and flipped vehicles.

trixie360: You are the envy of every eight-year-old boy in the country … except for the people trying to kill you part. What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?

CrzyNutz: Well there are some pretty bad jobs I've had to do in my career, but I think the most appropriate one would be burning human feces with diesel. You see when we don't have a "facilities," we use what we call a three-hole burner. Once they are FULL you have to get rid of the "waste" so we dump some diesel in the barrel, burn, and stir. It's pretty disgusting and you smell for quite some time.

trixie360: I have been asking that question since 2005 and I think we finally have a winner. Poo Incinerator is a BAD job. How long have you been on Xbox LIVE®?

CrzyNutz: I've been on Xbox LIVE for about 4-5 years.

On duty in Iraq.

On duty in Iraq.

trixie360: Do you have an archenemy on Xbox LIVE?

CrzyNutz: Oh yes, he's known as OHIOAN. I've been dueling with this guy for a long time. Battling who has the most achievements, who got it first, and who has the most kills. It's pretty much a never ending battle.

trixie360: What's your Xbox setup like?

CrzyNutz: 32-inch NON-HDTV with two studio speakers from my DJ'ing days. Not a big setup but I don't need all the flashy stuff to beat you. BUT! I wouldn't mind having it.

trixie360: What's the best feature of Xbox LIVE?

CrzyNutz: I would have to say the party system to keep in touch with my friends in and outside the Marine Corps.

trixie360: What is your favorite multiplayer Xbox game?

CrzyNutz: Well for awhile it was Call of Duty® 4: Modern Warfare™, but ever since Resident Evil 5, me and OHIOAN have been smashing Majini heads.

trixie360: What is your favorite single player Xbox game?

CrzyNutz: Fallout® 3 for sure! I have been following the Fallout series since my first deployment, playing them on PC. Plus it incorporates everything I love. Doing what I want and killing zombies. What more could a guy ask for?

He thinks Fallout 3 may be the best single-player Xbox 360 game.

He thinks Fallout 3 may be the best single-player Xbox 360 game.

trixie360: What do you think is the best game of all time?

CrzyNutz: I have a hard time picking a best game of all time. I guess it would have to be Shining Force or Final Fantasy 8. Those started my gaming fever.

trixie360: Rock Band or Guitar Hero?

CrzyNutz: Guitar Hero of course!

trixie360: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox LIVE?

CrzyNutz: Any kid that gets on and gets yelled at by his parents for cussing.

trixie360: What is your greatest Xbox LIVE moment?

CrzyNutz: Ok, here's the setting. It's CrzyNutz last man standing in a Hardcore Search and Destroy match. Nothing but a M1 Garand and greased up bayonet. I single handedly took out the entire team and defused the bomb with 6 secs left to defuse. It was so glorious I almost retired … but the next match was starting.

trixie360: Love hearing war stories from a real Vet. What's your favorite TV show?

CrzyNutz: Aqua Teen Hunger Force. "But that's my boom box!"

trixie360: Who is your inner rock star?

CrzyNutz: Jack Black. I just believe that if I could actually play good I would act exactly like him.

trixie360: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

CrzyNutz: Brad Pitt, he's the closest looking to me.

trixie360: What's your karaoke song?

CrzyNutz: Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer." I always get stuck with that song when we're playing Guitar Hero® World Tour. I think it's because I can hit the highnotes so well … LOL.

No zombie is safe around CrzyNutz.

No zombie is safe around CrzyNutz.

trixie360: What superpower would you like to have?

CrzyNutz: That would have to be … whatever you would consider the power that the guy has in the movie Jumper. It would be oh-so-useful especially when on deployment.

trixie360: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

CrzyNutz: T.I. but as long as it was before he went to prison.

trixie360: What celebrity would be the worst roommate?

CrzyNutz: Lil Jon. I could see asking for the remote and hearing "WHAT!?" till the point where I say never mind I'll get it, then he would say "OK!"

trixie360: How many people are on your Friends List?

CrzyNutz: Only 27. I just removed a bunch of old people I used to play with so I could add people I still play with.

trixie360: I'll have my Devil Dog send you a Friend Request. Who's your favorite superhero?

CrzyNutz: Ash Williams. All I have to say is Batman doesn't have superpowers either!

Centipede was the first game he ever played.

Centipede was the first game he ever played.

trixie360: Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?

CrzyNutz: Any Hispanic girl from Telemundo Network.

trixie360: That is casting a rather wide net. If you could be any video game character, who would it be?

CrzyNutz: Frank West from Dead Rising™. FYI, when Z DAY comes you might want to call me … if you want to survive, that is.

trixie360: Duly noted. What's the worst food you've ever eaten?

CrzyNutz: The BOCA burger from Denny's. My best friend was trying to watch his weight and thought it was good for him. Well, he was wrong and I am glad I never had to eat that again!

trixie360: Any kind of burger that doesn't contain a dead cow is suspect in my opinion. What's the first video game you every played?

CrzyNutz: Centipede for Atari.

trixie360: What's the last book you read?

CrzyNutz: World War Z by Max Brooks.

trixie360: If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

CrzyNutz: Blink 182 before they broke up. It would be so much fun I bet.

trixie360: What do you predict will be the "next big thing" in gaming?

CrzyNutz: Xbox 720. We're going to take it to the max.

trixie360: What do you think is the best thing about Xbox 360?

CrzyNutz: I like that you can download the games to help with those long nights on Call of Duty.

trixie360: What is the Xbox 360 Achievement that was hardest to get?

CrzyNutz: Mile High Club. It took so long, then one time I got all the way to the end and thought I died 'cause I saw red and a flash bang. I dropped my controller, then realized I wasn't dead and had like three seconds to finish the job. So I frantically picked up the controller and finished the job. Glad I never have to do that again!

trixie360: What would you like to be doing in ten years?

CrzyNutz: If I don't own Microsoft, Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps.

The Nomination Mail:

Hey trixie360,

I would like to nominate myself for the Gamer Spotlight. I am the selfless gamer that does what it takes for the team. I have been gaming from Atari to Xbox 360. I am in the United States Marine Corps, and have served 3 tours in Iraq in which I almost lost my life to an enemy mortar, for which I was awarded the Purple Heart. Now that I am away from the war scene for a little, I am battling it up in the COD Series and surviving Zombie hordes (Zombies Rock!). I am a loving husband, father, Marine, and gamer. I love Xbox because it helps me stay in touch with all my friends in the Marine Corps. Thanks, Trixie!
