TriXie360 Interviews TW QuantumDalek

Published August 27, 2008

She's a student in Albuquerque, New Mexico, who would love to trade places with an astronaut—as long as they didn't feed her eggplant! Say hello to TW QuantumDalek.

trixie360: What's the story behind your Gamertag?

TW QuantumDalek: To begin with, the TW stands for Tactical Warfare, an online gaming community. I have been a member for about a year. The Quantum comes from the Quantum Theory in the field of physics. I am currently learning this field. And the Dalek part comes from the semi-organic aliens in the BBC TV series Dr. Who.

trixie360: Where do you live?

TW QuantumDalek: I currently live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA. However, within the next year, my family and I plan to move to North Carolina.

trixie360: What do you do when you're not gaming?

TW QuantumDalek: I am in my final year of homeschooling. My last year focuses on mathematics, sciences, and the Japanese language.

trixie360: Wow, that's a rough schedule! What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?

TW QuantumDalek: I often tend the gardens of elderly neighbors, and upon one occasion, I was attacked and severely bitten by thousands of ants!

trixie360: Ew! How long have you been on Xbox LIVE®?

TW QuantumDalek: July 22, 2008 was my first year anniversary on Xbox LIVE.

trixie360: Happy Anniversary! Do you have an archenemy on Xbox LIVE?

Someday, she hopes to perform a headshot on TW Shaumarai.

TW QuantumDalek: My archenemy is TW Shaumarai. He is a good XBL friend of mine, and an expert sniper on Halo® 3. I am always trying to reach his skills to no avail, but perhaps one day, I will manage to no-scope head-shot him!

trixie360: How many hours a day or week do you spend playing on Xbox LIVE?

TW QuantumDalek: I spend around 8-10 hours a week on Xbox LIVE.

trixie360: What's the hardest thing about being a female gamer on Xbox LIVE?

TW QuantumDalek: Being a female gamer on Xbox LIVE is not hard. However, I'm frequently mistaken to be a young male. I have a slightly deep voice, so it's perhaps easy to see how this happens. Even after I have disclosed I am female, some players still do not believe it!

trixie360: Are there any advantages?

TW QuantumDalek: For me personally, I find no particular advantages. I would rather be considered a fellow gamer rather than being female.

trixie360: What's your Xbox setup like?

TW QuantumDalek: Nothing special. Standard 32-inch flatscreen TV, and a gaming stand that houses my Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

TW QuantumDalek is most like our good friend, Sam Fisher.

trixie360: What's the best feature of Xbox LIVE?

TW QuantumDalek: I would say, Xbox LIVE's simple navigation. Whether it be in-game or on the Xbox dashboard, you can never get lost.

trixie360: What feature would you like to see on Xbox LIVE?

TW QuantumDalek: Perhaps longer time and space allowances on LIVE messages, as I send so many of them. And allow more than two people in a chat lobby - Group Chat!

trixie360: What future Xbox LIVE game are you most looking forward to?

TW QuantumDalek: Tom Clancy's EndWar™ . I have always been a fan of Tom Clancy's games, and coupled with voice-controlled armies, this should be a great game!

trixie360: What do you think is the best game of all time?

TW QuantumDalek: The Halo franchise, particularly Halo® 3. This game came at the right time to fill a void. It stands alone for its story, characters, and unique environment. Though attempts may be made to replicate Halo 3, it is unlikely these attempts will impact the world to such an extent.

trixie360: What do you think is the best album of all time?

TW QuantumDalek: Not really an "album," but I enjoy the music from the sci-fi series, Babylon 5.

Many people look forward to the game EndWar.

trixie360: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox LIVE?

TW QuantumDalek: When playing Halo 3 Big Team Battle, I came across a player who became totally enraged after being killed numerous times. This player literally screamed down his microphone continuously. What struck me as being so funny was that although he was furious at being killed, our team still won the game by a large margin.

trixie360: What is your greatest Xbox LIVE moment?

TW QuantumDalek: The greatest moment was when I actually signed up for Xbox LIVE. A day to remember!

trixie360: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

TW QuantumDalek: The only person who could truly portray me is me. That way, I could make millions of dollars from acting out my own life, and for the movie rights. LOL!

trixie360: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

TW QuantumDalek is a big fan of the whole Splinter Cell series.

TW QuantumDalek: An astronaut! A trip of a lifetime!

trixie360: What celebrity would be the worst roommate?

TW QuantumDalek: Kiefer Sutherland playing out Jack Bauer. He's just too dangerous to be around!

trixie360: What game character is most like you?

TW QuantumDalek: Sam Fisher of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell®. He's much like me—a loner, and always gets the job done.

trixie360: What's the worst food you've ever eaten?

TW QuantumDalek: Yuck, that would have to be eggplant! Mushy and disgusting.

trixie360: Ick. Last book you read?

TW QuantumDalek: TomClancy's Splinter Cell: Fallout by David Michaels.

trixie360: If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

TW QuantumDalek: Not really a band, but Video Games Live. I actually play the violin, and it would be great to play alongside a performance of video game music.

trixie360: That WOULD be cool! What do you predict will be the "next big thing" in gaming?

TW QuantumDalek: Voice-controlled features, not only in-game, but on the dashboard, disc tray, start a game, or listen to a certain track of music. You wouldn't have to touch a button!

trixie360: I would enjoy that. If there's one thing I can do, it's talk. What do you think isthe best thing about Xbox 360?

TW QuantumDalek: Achievements. They provide gamers with a goal, and determination to reach that goal, thus adding greatly to your Gamerscore.

trixie360: What would you like to be doing in ten years?

TW QuantumDalek: Completing my Science Ph.D.

The Nomination Mail:

My Gamertag is TW QuantumDalek. I am an 18-year-old female gamer living in Albuquerque, New Mexico (soon to be moving to Raleigh, NC). I have been on Xbox LIVE for about a year, and I am enjoying every moment of it. I also share the Xbox 360 and Gamertag with my younger brother in the family. In my real life, I have no friends, but Xbox LIVE has given me the opportunity to make great friends who share the same interests, and getting together on XBL with friends that you know, is really an exciting thing. The Xbox Forums have given me the opportunity to expand my realm in making friends or just to have a general discussion with the fellow gamers of the world.  I always try to do the right thing on XBL, and to make all the fellow gamers whom I play with happy. I guess you could call me a total Xbox Console/Xbox LIVE fan.

I own all three current gen systems, and by far Xbox 360 is the best in all ways. Gamerscore has always been a big thing for me. I love spending countless hours getting that one important achievement to add it to my hard-worked Gamerscore. Though, I don't buy Xbox 360 games just because of the achievements, I feel it is well worth the effort. I also try to buy all my favorite Xbox 360 games on the Launch Days. I will always be an Xbox fan.

I have read all the Gamer Spotlights since I have been on XBL, and have finally decided to share my story with fellow gamers, and perhaps even make some new friends. I always try to keep my friends list open to new people, and I am always looking for a good game on XBL.
