TriXie360 Interviews KidSix
Published August 20, 2008
He's a gaming Dad who can change a diaper while playing Halo® 3. He was an Olympic torch-bearer in 2002, and his wife thinks he's the greatest. Bow down to KidSix!
trixie360: What's the story behind your Gamertag?
KidSix: I am the last of six children, hence KidSix. Love ya, Mom.
trixie360: Ouchie. Where do you live?
KidSix: Carmel, Indiana, which is a small suburb just north of Indianapolis.
trixie360: What do you do when not carrying a torch or gaming?
KidSix: I am a Business Analyst for RCI, a division of Wyndham Worldwide. It's travel and leisure and that sort of thing. Hotels and resorts and such.

KidSix.
trixie360: What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?
KidSix: Worst would definitely be de-tasseling corn, which is somewhat of a rite of passage in Indiana. During the summer, teens from across the state arrive at corn fields around sunrise. You walk the length of the fields in the space between the rows and pull the tassel from each stalk as you go along. Each. One. Then, once you get to the end, you turn around, move one row over, rinse, and repeat. All day long. Some of the fields are as much as a half mile across. Maybe bigger. First you get wet in the morning because of all the dew, then you bake in the afternoon heat. It has something to do with cross-breeding or hybridizing or something. I don't know. I hated it, as all of us who have done it do.
trixie360: AblativMeatshld concurs with your assessment of de-tasseling. How long have you been on Xbox LIVE®?
KidSix: Since launch, November 15, 2002. Technically I guess you could say before that, 'cause a buddy of mine was a beta tester and I played a bit at his house.
trixie360: Do you have an archenemy on Xbox LIVE?
KidSix: I would say that I have two. AlaMoFoe and Marzellius. We're all friends in meatspace, and we used to hook up four Xboxes and play Halo on a LAN here in Indy. We even work together. We've been playing together for almost five years now, and I would say we are all each other's archenemies.
trixie360: What's your Xbox setup like?
KidSix: I have a 50-inch Panasonic plasma TH-50PZ800U, and I use Sennheiser RS120 wireless headphones when I play. I have a sixteen-month-old son, so I gotta keep it down.

One of his proudest moments was carrying the Olympic torch during the Salt Lake City Olympics.
trixie360: What's the best feature of Xbox LIVE?
KidSix: That's a tough one, but I think I'm going to have to say Xbox Originals and the Arcade. Being able to pay for and then digitally download a game, with no software to install or materials to buy, is pretty slick.
trixie360: I agree. Love, love, love the Arcade! What do you think is the best game of all time?
KidSix: Oh, the pressure! If I had to pick one game, I would go with BioShock in a narrow victory over Half-Life.
trixie360: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox LIVE?
KidSix: Easy. There was this one punk just talking an insane amount of unnecessary trash in Gears of War®. He eventually started talking about this other guy's mother and how he … um … you know … had relations with her. Can I say that? Anyway, the guy's response was, "Congratulations. You just slept with a 68-year-old fat lady". It brought down the house, and the other guy shut up real quick.
trixie360: Hahaha. I'm going to remember that one! What is your greatest Xbox LIVE moment?
KidSix: Changing a diaper while playing CTF on Avalanche in Halo 3. I kept the carpet clean and even managed a few kills.

Well, I'm asking, Master Chief. Do you have any salve for diaper rash?
trixie360: That IS impressive. Who is your inner rock star?
KidSix: Buckethead.
trixie360: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?
KidSix: Benicio del Toro. He's got just the right mix of humor, looks, and eccentricity.
trixie360: What superpower would you like to have?
KidSix: Time travel. Not only would it be great for stopping the bad guys before they start, but to be able to relive your life's best moments and to witness the greatest events in history? What could be better than that?
trixie360: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?
KidSix: My son, Aidan. He's just starting to really explore and become self-aware. To revisit and to be cognizant in that stage when the whole world is wondrous and awesome would just be incredible.
trixie360: Plus somebody else pays the rent and wipes your bottom for you! What celebrity would be the worst roommate?
KidSix: Tom Brady. He's got three rings, dates a super model, and makes umpty bazillion dollars. How could anyone compete with that?

Tom Brady would be an annoying roommate, for sure.
trixie360: Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?
KidSix: Brody Dalle, formerly of The Distillers. Hands down.
trixie360: If you could be any video game character, who would it be?
KidSix: Gordon Freeman, your bad-assed neighborhood theoretical physicist.
trixie360: Oh, I always thought Gordon was hot. I like big brains and I cannot lie. What's the worst food you've ever eaten?
KidSix: Green olives, in any form. Ball up some dead spiders, dust bunnies, peeling lacquer, candle wax, and hair clippings and you have them. They taste like attic.
trixie360: "Tastes like Attic." I LOVE that. What's the last book you read?
KidSix: The Road by Cormac McCarthy.
trixie360: If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?
KidSix: Tool. I've seen them half a dozen times, and every one of their shows is epic. I'd like to see what it takes to do that night after night for a year and a half.
trixie360: What do you predict will be the "next big thing" in gaming?
KidSix: The digital download thing is just starting to get big, and Valve seems to be doing some great things with Steam. I can see gaming going entirely digital in the future.
trixie360: What do you think is the best thing about Xbox 360®?
KidSix: It's in the living room, on the couch, with the 50-inch screen, amongst the rest of the living. It can be a great social experience.
trixie360: What is the Xbox 360 Achievement that was hardest to get?
KidSix: I haven't gotten it yet, but making it through Halo 3, solo, on the Legendary setting is definitely posing the biggest challenge for me so far.
trixie360: What would you like to be doing in ten years?
KidSix: Not saying, "What do you mean college tuition is a hundred grand??"
