TriXie Interviews bs angel

She's a full-time mommy, a Halo® freak, and has a very cool blog called Hawty McBloggy Invites You to Play that is definitely worth reading on a regular basis. A big round of applause for bs angel!

TriXie: What's the story behind your Gamertag?

bs angel: That is a tightly guarded secret that very few people know. I will say it doesn't stand for what you think it does. The funniest guess that someone has made is "bologna sandwich" angel. That still makes me laugh for some reason!

TriXie: Where do you live?

bs angel: I live in the beautiful inland Northwest.

TriXie: What do you do inland?

bs angel: I am a stay-at-home mom of three boys that I fondly refer to as my "herd." I have passed along my passion for gaming to them, although I am hoping I didn't pass along my lack of skills as well.

TriXie: I LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! How long have you been blogging?

bs angel: Thank you! I am going on my sixth month. My blog is my baby and I love her dearly. I have found her to be such a creative outlet for my inner geek.

TriXie: How long have you been on Xbox LIVE®?

bs angel: Close to four years. The first game I played on Xbox LIVE was Star Wars Battlefront™. I still have some of the people I met on that game on my friends list.

TriXie: Do you have an archenemy on Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: I have one official archenemy and that is Mintz. We had a particularly epic game on Terminal once in Halo 2, where we ran into each other 20+ times. I killed him more times than he killed me, although he probably won't admit it. Jerk.

TriXie: How many hours a day or week do you spend playing on Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: While I manage to sneak in an hour or two per day during the week, Friday and Saturday nights are typically marathon sessions that go into the wee hours of the morning. I have some serious stamina when it comes to gaming.

TriXie: What's the hardest thing about being a female gamer on Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: Putting up with verbal abuse from people that work hard to prove John Gabriel's Internet Theory correct. No chocolate milk for them.

TriXie: Are there any advantages?

bs angel: Being a female gamer is a double-edged sword in my opinion. You garner high levels of attention that you don't necessarily want in the first place, but with that attention you get the opportunity to have your voice heard when it probably wouldn't have been otherwise.

TriXie: What's your Xbox setup like?

bs angel: Upstairs, I have a beautiful 56-inch DLP HDTV that I purchased three days before Xbox 360™ was released. I play light-hearted casual games on it. Downstairs I have the same TV, just a 30-inch version that I play my hardcore FPS games on. I find it easier to take in the picture as a whole on the smaller screen. Both are decked out with Surround Sound which I enjoy cranking up to earth-shattering levels especially when rocking out on Guitar Hero™.

TriXie: What's the best feature of Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: I love the Xbox LIVE Arcade. From the second I unpacked my 360 and discovered Hexic® HD, I have spent countless hours enjoying those casual games.

TriXie: What feature would you like to see on Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: I am desperate for either a universal clan list that is functional across every game that supports team play or an expanded friends list. Pretty please? I am not above begging. Or bribing.

TriXie: Hmmm …  I can has shoes? What do you think is the best game of all time?

bs angel: What a difficult question. I have to say Tetris for a variety of reasons, the main ones being the simplicity of the game play, the extent to which you can immerse yourself, and the staying power it has had. Tetris is a true classic and has provided such a solid base for that genre of gaming.

TriXie: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox LIVE?

bs angel: The top ten funniest things I have ever heard on Xbox LIVE have come out of KP's mouth. He probably said the 11th funniest thing as well.

TriXie: Yes, he is a witty little rascal. What is your greatest Xbox LIVE moment?

bs angel: My greatest online moment was playing in two Humpday Challenges against Bungie. Truly epic, to play your favorite video game with the people who created it. My greatest offline moment was being behind the wheel of the hog to complete the last level of Halo. What an adrenaline rush.

TriXie: Who is your inner rock star?

bs angel: Abba, because I am the original Dancing Queen. I actually create DDR dance routines to songs on the radio when I am cooking dinner. I really am that cool.

TriXie: Come on. NO ONE is that cool! If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

bs angel: Somebody pretty, funny, and smart. That way people would think I was pretty, funny, and smart.

TriXie: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

bs angel: Bill Gates. If my 360 broke, I could simply pick up the phone and have a replacement immediately. Oh, I would probably go shopping too.

TriXie: What celebrity would be the worst roommate?

bs angel: Cliffy B. because he would probably hog the 360. Hopefully he would work a lot, so I wouldn't have to play split screen.

TriXie: He'd probably steal your hair product too. Hot celeb you'd like to shack up with?

bs angel: Matthew McConaughey. And I would like to do more than just shack up.

TriXie: You and me both. What game character is most like you?

bs angel: Definitely the Grunts from Halo. My gaming tendencies are the same as theirs. I simply run around in circles freaking out until I am dead. My teammates love me!

TriXie: What's the worst food you've ever eaten?

bs angel: I will never forget the one time I ordered meatloaf when dining out at a local restaurant. While it was fairly tasty going down, it didn't taste nearly so good coming back up. I'll leave it at that.

TriXie: Last book you read?

bs angel: Does the Official Xbox Magazine count? If not, the Halo 3 Strategy Guide. One of those better count.

TriXie: Technically a magazine is not a book, so we'll go with the strategy guide. If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

bs angel: I would go on tour with Heart so I could play lead guitar on "Crazy on You." I am a rock star with that song on Guitar Hero!

TriXie: I wish they'd put "Magic Man" on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. What do you predict will be the "next big thing" in gaming?

bs angel: I would love to see more extras in the games like Bungie gave us with Halo 3. Saving films, capturing screenshots, uploading other people's Forge games, all of those features add so much to the experience.

TriXie: What do you think is the best thing about Xbox 360?

bs angel: The ability to play and communicate with people from all across the world. I never would have crossed paths with so many people I now call friends if it weren't for that service. Group hug!

TriXie: What would you like to be doing in ten years?

bs angel: The same thing I am doing now. Enjoying my life.
