TriXie Interviews SeventhSun

Published October 15, 2003

Twenty-eight-year-old SeventhSun lives in Copenhagen, Denmark, works as a Web designer for Danish National Radio, and loves his Midtown Madness 3 so much his cars jump for joy.

TriXie: How long have you been on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Since February 2003.

TriXie: How many people do you have on your Friends List?

SeventhSun: 55.

TriXie: Do you play with gamers in all the Xbox Live countries, or is it mostly Europe, or what?

SeventhSun: I play with people from both the U.S. and Europe. Because of the ping times, I mostly play with Europeans, but if Americans have a good connection, it's no problem for them to join. So far I've played with gamers from America, England, Sweden, the Netherlands, Germany, and France.

TriXie: What’s the worst job you’ve ever had?

SeventhSun: I've had some bad jobs, but most places you'll work with some cool people or pretty girls which makes it OK. But while I was in school, I worked as a pizza delivery boy. There is nothing worse than driving around on a moped in the rainstorms of the fall with pizzas in a box.

TriXie: Do you have an arch enemy?

SeventhSun: I don't play with people I don't like, so I only have friendly rivalries. The person I enjoy beating the most would be MajorP.

TriXie: How many hours a day or week do you spend playing on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Only about 12+ hours a week. I have a girlfriend, and she is definitely part of the reason why I'm not playing more. She is not really into games herself, but she doesn't give me a hard time about my playtime though.

TriXie: What’s the funniest thing you’ve ever heard on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Well, there are always a lot of jokes, trash talk, and bragging in the air, so it's hard to mention a single thing. But the funniest session I've had was when banzai dk showed some of us how to make the cars bounce like a Dr. Dre video in Midtown Madness 3.

TriXie: So tell us! How do you make the cars bounce?

SeventhSun: Well, I didn't host so I don't exactly know. When setting up a Tag mode game, you can make it start like a Cruise game for those who join. Somehow when the cars damage out, it's only the suspension that is broken. You keep your car, but if you hit something, your car will bounce like crazy. The Mustang will bounce most easily, but even the limo will dance for you, if you treat it right.

TriXie: Cool. What do you think is the best feature of Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Apart from the service itself, I think that the headset, and the way it's a natural part of all Xbox Live games, is what really makes Xbox Live so much better than online PC gaming.

TriXie: What feature would you like to see on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: More focused communities for all the games, with more small tournaments just for fun, and more ways to meet people that play the same game as you, like special Web sites.

TriXie: What makes someone good to play against?

SeventhSun: Someone who is skilled in a game, but not being a jerk about it. And someone with humor, who can lose with a smile.

TriXie: How will you know if they're smiling?

SeventhSun: Well, you can hear it if someone complains about losing with a smile. If they quit the game just before they lose, they're probably bad losers. If they want revenge they're gamers.

TriXie: What is your favorite Xbox Live enabled game?

SeventhSun: Wow, that's difficult, it changes all the time. I'll have to go with Midtown Madness 3 or Ghost Recon.

TriXie: What you looking forward to playing on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Project Gotham Racing 2.

TriXie: That’s gonna be great. What’s your favorite offline Xbox game?

SeventhSun: Also something that changes with each new game I buy, but the games I have played the most would be Halo and Project Gotham Racing.

TriXie: You have any winning tips?

SeventhSun: I don't win much normally, unless it's Hunter in Midtown Madness 3. My strategy is basically just to remember that the police cars handle turns much worse than your car, hopefully.

TriXie: What’s the most obnoxious thing gamers do on Xbox Live?

SeventhSun: Deliberately destroy the game for others, like driving the wrong way in MotoGP.

TriXie: What do you think is the best game of all time?

SeventhSun: The New Zealand Story.

TriXie: Best film?

SeventhSun: Can I say everything by Kevin Smith?

TriXie: No.

SeventhSun: How about the Star Wars Trilogy? OK, just one film, then it's Pulp Fiction.

TriXie: Best album?

SeventhSun: Public Enemy It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back.

TriXie: Best TV show?

SeventhSun: 24. I’m looking forward to the third season.

TriXie: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

SeventhSun: Jason Lee.

TriXie: Do you have a theme song?

SeventhSun: Hmmm. I have Fraggle Rock on my mobile phone.

TriXie: Cute. What cartoon character do you think is most like you?

SeventhSun: Gabe from Penny Arcade.

TriXie: What super power would you like to have?

SeventhSun: I'd like to be able to just KNOW the truth always.

TriXie: It might be scary. If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

SeventhSun: Edward Norton. If he is still seeing Salma Hayek, that is.

TriXie: Bad news, Sun. Salma and Ed broke up. So becoming Ed Norton is no longer the way to get to her. But I guess she’s single now! If you were ice cream, what flavor would you be and why?

SeventhSun: Chocolate Chip, because I'm deep with hidden surprises.

TriXie: What kind of surprises are hidden in your depths?

SeventhSun: I have an opinion about everything. For better or for worse.

TriXie: What’s the worst food you’ve ever eaten?

SeventhSun: Fresh tomatoes.

TriXie: What's so nasty about tomatoes?

SeventhSun: I just don't like them. I've hated tomatoes all my life, but it's something that people never quite understand or accept. "Everybody loves tomatoes." Well I don't.

TriXie: There’s one of those pesky opinions. If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

SeventhSun: Gangstarr.

TriXie: What would you like to be doing in ten years?

SeventhSun: I'd like to do a serious TV show about games, and in my spare time I'll be teaching my kids how to play Super Mario.

TriXie: What would surprise American gamers about Denmark or Danish gamers?

SeventhSun: Denmark is a wonderful country. With only five million people in the country, I think that we have a pretty high standard when it comes to gaming.
