The Important Stuff:Gamertag: ELECTRICLADY 5 Check out her music: www.trinityelectriclady.com | Gamer Spotlight:TriXie Interviews ELECTRICLADY 5She's lived in Turkey, plays lead electric guitar, makes jewelry, and loves getting stealthy in Splinter Cell. Raise your lighter for ELECTRICLADY 5. TriXie: What's the story behind your gamertag?
ELECTRICLADY 5: I am a female electric lead guitarist, vocalist, and song-writer. When I perform, I am called Trinity Electric Lady. Las Vegas audiences call me the female Hendrix because of my 60's and 70's style guitar riffs. Hendrix affectionately called his female fans Electric Ladies. Being a female Hendrix fan and a female electric guitarist and a female gamer, ELECTRICLADY 5 was just right on when it came down to describing who I am as a female musician, and gamer. (The 5 is for my birthday, January 5.) TriXie: Ooh, Capricorns rule! What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had? ELECTRICLADY 5: I believe that anytime you have to take a job (and we've all had to at one point or another) doing something day in and day out that's not your heart's desire or your true passion, then it's the worst! Pretty much any job I've ever had that didn't have anything to do with music, art, or fun, felt like a prison to me. This is why I believe that video games are so freeing, because we can become any character at any time and live out our greatest fantasies knowing that "no humans were harmed during the playing of the game" right from the comfort of our own consoles. Playing against some of the best players, especially on Xbox LIVE® from around the world 24/7 really takes your mind off of the worries of the world. To me, it's the great escape! TriXie: How many hours a day or week do you spend playing on Xbox LIVE? ELECTRICLADY 5: So far, just in the few months that I've been on, most nights have been all-nighters. I play to the point where I have to rub my eyes to see the screen. Needless to say, this is not too cool during a death match. "Hey, wait a minute, where did that flash bang come from?" "Oh, it's just me, and my eyeballs are melting!" I could honestly say that I stay on until my eyes are fragged! Honorable Console-fucious say:"If eyes are red, then go to bed, or you might get fragged upon your head!" True words of wisdom! TriXie: What's the hardest thing about being a female gamer on Xbox LIVE? ELECTRICLADY 5: Well, being ELECTRICLADY 5, sometimes when the guys see the lady part of my gamertag, they immediately start asking questions like, "Are you a dude?" or "Are you really a girl?" "I've never seen a girl play Splinter Cell before" A lot of gamer guys view GamerchiX as easy prey. One guy even tried to suggest that I wasn't so smart when he found out that I was a "lady" and we hadn't even exchanged our first fire, so I introduced myself with a meet and greet Sam Fisher style! It felt real good! Ahhh! Therapy! I don't take it to heart though. Sometimes it's just plain silly. It's all "friendly fire" to me! TriXie: Are there any advantages? ELECTRICLADY 5: Yes, on the other hand, I have also been treated very respectfully by some of the gamer guys after they realized that I was a "lady". Some of them even cleaned up their language because of my presence (these were the coolest guys by far). I don't often participate in matches where players are using foul language, so this was a real treat! Also, being part of GamerchiX has made me feel like an immediate part of the community. So many great things are going on here at Xbox LIVE. I could see how a new member might feel a little lost at first, trying to find their niche, but with GamerchiX, everyone has been so friendly, available and welcoming, that every new friend feels like an old friend! TriXie: What feature would you like to see on Xbox LIVE? ELECTRICLADY 5: Right now, there are so many great features available on Xbox 360™, that I think it's going to take a while for most people to catch up and utilize them all. I would have suggested being able to download movies, but it already exists! This feature is incredible! Increasing the friends list capacity is a must! We all have so many friends, but so little space! TriXie: I wouldn't say no to a bigger friends list, that's for sure. What future Live-enabled game are you most looking forward to? ELECTRICLADY 5: I am really anxiously awaiting Assassin's Creed. The screenshots from the Xbox 360 version of the game are phenomenal! Set in the Holy Land during the time of the third Crusade, our new hero Altair has some looks and moves that to me are very reminiscent of one of my other all-time favorite heroes the Prince of Persia. TriXie: What do you think is the best game of all time? ELECTRICLADY 5: Well TriXie, I'm so glad you gave me all the easy questions! (just kidding) I think I just heard a voice say, "Welcome, you are now entering the eternal forum, pack a lunch … " Through the years, there have just been so many great games. It's really hard to pick that number one game, but I can definitely say that there's a game that no matter what other games I have played, or how much time has passed in between my playing it, I always return to one of my all-time favorites, and that's Galaga! I still play it regularly. TriXie: What do you think is the best film of all time? ELECTRICLADY 5: Well, I would have to list them in categories: For Drama: The Godfather Trilogy. Dark subject matter, but a masterpiece none the less. I'm Sicilian so I have to choose this one or else … Know what I mean? Sci-Fi: The Original Star Wars Trilogy. Horror: Bela Lugosi as Dracula Indie: too many … TriXie: What do you think is the best album of all time? ELECTRICLADY 5: When I was younger, I got to know Johnny and June Cash and we met on a few occasions. They were beautiful people. One of my favorite albums as a whole is Johnny Cash American IV: The Man Comes Around. With a hint of pain and sadness in his voice, it was very evident that he was not long for the planet when they recorded this one. Recorded by Rick Rubin, Johnny's last album is an intimate portrait of the Man in Black. Also Jimi Hendrix's Electricladyland A+. TriXie: What is your greatest Xbox LIVE moment? ELECTRICLADY 5: The first night I hooked up to Xbox LIVE, my friend and I jumped right in to a Splinter Cell death match. Being veterans of the series, we thought 'this is going to be great!' We know all the moves and weapons etc … how hard can it be? We got this! Ha! Ha! Ha! They were Tricksy Precious and we found out fast that the death match arena was a totally different world. If anyone wanted to know what the details on the museum floor tiles looked like, I could have described it to them first hand because I was inspecting them the whole match. I was sooo upset, and I just knew I could do better but it was my first death match after all. That's what I kept telling myself. I took some time to re-group and after a couple of hours, I signed back in and I am proud to say that I won my second death match with 20 kills and it wasn't easy. I was being trailed by another lady gamer who was up to 15, so it was close. I was trailing her for awhile. There were about 5 of us playing, but I was just keeping my eye on her. I'm glad I didn't give up, this victory keeps me going! TriXie: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? ELECTRICLADY 5: Any impoverished person to keep me grounded. TriXie: What celebrity would be the worst roommate? ELECTRICLADY 5: Monk (no offense to Tony Shalhoub of course). TriXie: Who's your favorite Superhero? ELECTRICLADY 5: I love Aquaman!!! But, I always thought The Hulk was really fascinating and a great representation of the potential of mankind. I've always believed that human beings are part Spirit and part flesh and that automatically puts us in a constant struggle with ourselves being heavenly minded but earthly bound. TriXie: Oh my, I LOVE Aquaman! I thought I was the only one! If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be? ELECTRICLADY 5: I would love to play guitar with The Cure, Fleetwood Mac, or The Dave Mathews Band. TriXie: What do you think is the best thing about the Xbox 360? ELECTRICLADY 5: I really love meeting new people from other parts of the world and having the opportunity to share a conversation about our cultural and gaming similarities and differences. Being able to communicate in real time via the headset with just about anyone from anywhere at anytime has been some of the most fun that I've ever had in any gaming experience! I've also had the opportunity to lend emotional support to a few players who were just really in need of a friend who would listen at the time, just by lending an ear. Priceless. TriXie: What would you like to be doing in ten years? ELECTRICLADY 5: Making a difference and saving the world! TriXie: Thanks ELECTRICLADY! ELECTRICLADY 5: Special thanks to TriXie our GamerchiX Queen! (You Rock Girl!) and the whole Xbox® Community! It's been great chatting with you. Love to All! See you online … Trinity (ELECTRICLADY 5). |
