The Important Stuff:Gamertag: CasketLady | Gamer Spotlight:TriXie Interviews CasketLady
She's a California girl, a grandmother to many, a force to be reckoned with in Uno® and has a very … unusual profession—she's an independent funeral consultant. Meet CasketLady. TriXie: What's the story behind your gamertag? CasketLady: I have used the name CasketLady for many years, because I am actually in the funeral business. It represents a small portion of my profession in which I design and sell caskets, not only for funerals, but also for movies, television programs, and for the private use of some, let's say rather eccentric, individuals. I also had the privilege of having the first ever Casket Store that sold caskets and other funeral and burial items directly to the public. This enables many individuals to take advantage of huge saving over the standard funeral home prices. Now people have a choice rather than being forced to make expenditures beyond their means on the worst day of their life. TriXie: What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had? CasketLady: I guess I've been very fortunate and never really had a job that I didn't like. Then again, some people may think that working as a "CasketLady" is pretty weird! TriXie: Break it down for us: How many children and grandchildren do you have? CasketLady: My husband and I have eight children and fifteen grandchildren, but that number is subject to change; seven of our children are married. TriXie: Thanksgiving at your house must be madness! How long have you been on Xbox Live®? CasketLady: I have been on Xbox Live for about 3 months. The Xbox 360™ actually belong to my youngest son who is a real sport about sharing with his Mom. TriXie: You should raise that kid's allowance! Do you have an arch enemy on Xbox Live, and if so, who? CasketLady: Gosh, not that I know of, but then again there was this one person who gave me bad feedback because she said I was not nice because I kept giving her too many cards … heck, after all it was an Uno game, lol! TriXie: That's kinda weak. Were you supposed to just let her win? How many hours a day or week do you spend playing on Xbox Live? CasketLady:Toooo many! I am usually on at least a few hours every day or afternoon or night or middle of the night, lol, but never on Friday nights or Saturdays. TriXie: What's the hardest thing about being a female gamer on Xbox Live? CasketLady: The hardest thing about being a female gamer for me is the lack of coordination with those darnn thumbsticks! The rest is pretty easy if you can manage to avoid, delete and/or report the crazies. TriXie: Well I know a lot of girls who would argue that the lack of coordination isn't due to gender, but a lack of practice. Keep playing, you'll get there! Are there any advantages? CasketLady: The main advantage to being a female gamer is that I have recently had the privilege of joining with other female gamers and becoming a GamerchiX. It is trulya wonderful group of ladies. We talk about anything and everything regardless if it has to do with gaming or not. We play games with each other and recently we have been trying to get our young children involved who we would not usually allow to play on Xbox Live. Best of all, we sincerely care about each other and provide a great support system for each other. The other advantage to being a female gamer is that if I set up an Uno game the room is never empty for very long. TriXie: I agree that all the GamerchiX have been amazingly fun and supportive—especially CasketLady! What do you think is the best feature of Xbox Live? CasketLady:Meeting people and making friends from all around the world. TriXie: What feature would you like to see on Xbox Live? CasketLady: I would like to see the number of people we can have on our friends list increased and also the possibility of group private chats. TriXie: What future Xbox Live-enabled game are you most looking forward to? CasketLady: Poker and any card or board games. TriXie: Ah, an Arcade girl after my own heart. What do you think is the best game of all time? CasketLady: Uno! TriXie: What do you think is the best album of all time? CasketLady: Hot August Night by Neil Diamond (I'm old remember, lol!) TriXie: What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox Live? CasketLady: "I'm not dressed, where's the duct tape?" You had to be there, lol! TriXie: Yikes. What is your greatest Xbox Live moment? CasketLady:When I was asked to do this interview! TriXie: Aw, it's my pleasure! What is a TV show that you never miss? CasketLady:Currently Grey's Anatomy. TriXie: What's your favorite TV show that's no longer running? CasketLady: thirtysomething. TriXie: If they made a movie about your life, who should play you? CasketLady:Funny, this has actually been asked before and the general consensus of family and friends is Julia Roberts. TriXie: What's your karaoke song? CasketLady: "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane. TriXie: "One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small … " What super power would you like to have? CasketLady:Regeneration and healing. TriXie: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be? CasketLady:Golda Meir. TriXie: What celebrity would be the worst roommate? CasketLady: Anyone who doesn't know that socks belong in the laundry hamper. TriXie: That's where they go? What's the worst food you've ever eaten? CasketLady:Poi. TriXie: What would you like to see on Xbox.com? CasketLady: A segment that deals with very detailed instructions for novice players, and a very simplified version of how to use the controller. TriXie: Maybe we can get Elle to hook you up with one of those. What do you predict will be the 'next big thing' in gaming? CasketLady:Retail digital distribution. TriXie: What do you think is the best thing about the Xbox 360? CasketLady:Definitely Xbox Live! TriXie: What would you like to be doing in ten years? CasketLady: In ten years, I hope that I will witness world peace where there will be an acceptance of our fellow man regardless of our differences, a cure for catastrophic diseases, and the end to famine and poverty. I would like to be enjoying even more grandchildren than I have now. I would also like to still be playing Uno on Xbox Live with my good friends and visiting very often with a very special friend who wants to be laying on a beach in Cabo and drinking margaritas! TriXie: You are one ambitious chick! Anything else you'd like to add? CasketLady: Yes, TriXie, I want to especially thankyouforasking me to do this interview. You and all of the people I have met on Xbox Live have enhanced my life and I am grateful to have had this opportunity. I have made some real friends here and I know that we will remain so for a very long time. Keep the games going and keep the entire Xbox® experience alive! Thank you, very, very much! |
