The Nomination Mail

Hi, I would really like for you to interview Avenging Titan for the Gamer Spotlight. He is an extremely helpful person. My friends have had problems on Xbox Live and he answered as best as he could. I've searched around on some topics with a somewhat big problem, and he was one of the first people to post with a detailed, and a really helpful answer. He is one of the nicest people I've seen in the forum, and I've been surfing the forums for a week now. He really needs to be recognized as a "Helpful Hand"

Gamer Spotlight:

TriXie Interviews Avenging Titan

He's a high school student in Oakland, Maine, who loves mythology, the X-Men, and hopes to become a game designer one day. Say hello to Avenging Titan.

TriXie:What's the worst or weirdest job you've ever had?

Avenging Titan: Does community service count? I worked at a VA Hospital for one summer. I was an "escort," which meant I needed to deliver various packages or messages all over a hospital that stretched over 1/4 a mile. I actually got lost a few times.

TriXie: How long have you been on Xbox Live®?

Avenging Titan: I've been on Xbox Live since three months after its launch. A good friend of mine had Xbox Live before I did. I spent almost every day at his house playing Crimson Skies®: High Road to Revenge™ and MechAssault®, before finally getting my own system. Since then I've been an addict for Xbox Live, which I enjoy a lot as it adds a great deal of replay value to my games.

TriXie: Do you have an arch enemy on Xbox Live?

Avenging Titan: Well, yes, in a way. One of my friends, Irish Shadow is always on me about the achievement points. He recently topped me in Perfect Dark Zero™ and won't let it drop. Plus he fragged me in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter™ when we were team mates. Irish, I won't forgot that.

TriXie: Ah, I remember Irish Shadow. He was in the Gamer Spotlight back in December. (You can read it here.) What's your Xbox® set-up like?

Avenging Titan: I have a 64" Sony LCD flat screen, with surround sound … not sure on the type though. It gets the job done and that's all that matters. I like to make my friends jealous with it.

TriXie: I'm jealous too! What's the best feature of Xbox Live?

Avenging Titan: Hmm I'd have to say the Arcade. There's nothing better than hopping on some of my classic games and enjoying them with some friends. Like Hardwood Hearts and Uno® for example. It's hard enough to get people over to play these, at least on Live finding people to play isn't a challenge … but cheating is impossible when you can't learn over to see their hand.

TriXie: What do you think is the best game of all time?

Avenging Titan: I'd have to say the best game of all time is Final Fantasy 8. I can honestly say there are few games out there that are solid enough to even compare. The storyline was great but it was the main character Squall that did it for me, because of what he represented as a being. To understand me, you must know I like to be the hero; Squall was the mirror image of what I wanted to be.

TriXie: What is your greatest Xbox Live moment?

Avenging Titan: Ohhh, ok this is a bit of my evil side. But it was with a buddy and we were playing MechAssault® 2: Lone Wolf. The host would get very upset if you took "his mech", so we planted bombs around our mechs and when the guy ran for his we would blow them. BOOM! Goodbye to all our mechs. This is where the guy just spazzed out and screamed "omg they're not even near us and our base is blowing up … omg cheaters!" Haha, we lost but it was well worth it. No one tells me I can't use the big mech.

TriXie: What's your karaoke song?

Avenging Titan: Something really girly, and embarrassing. Which is why it will never be said.

TriXie: Hit me baby, one more time. Hot celeb you'd like to be stranded on a desert island with?

Avenging Titan: Kristanna Loken; good looking, smart, and an interesting person. Better than being stuck with Jessica Simpson. Wow, she is such a stupid person.

TriXie: Who's cooler: Sam Fisher, Leisure Suit Larry, or Master Chief?

Avenging Titan: I despise them all. Conker takes the cake. Master Chief has a lot to catch up on, if a cigar smoking squirrel can out shoot him.

TriXie: What do you predict will be the 'next big thing' in gaming?

Avenging Titan: Jeez, I was impressed with Xbox Live; the next step would have to be something virtual. Something along the lines of that fighting game in The Island and if I do recall it had an Xbox logo on it.

TriXie: What do you think is the best thing about the Xbox 360™?
Avenging Titan: The achievement points, while it's not something I'm hard bent on I must say they do add some flavor to games, and that little extra competition.

TriXie: What would you like to be doing in ten years?

Avenging Titan: I'd like to be creating video games, possibly right in Microsoft Game Studios. Working with both story development and game design, there's nothing better than knowing that thousands of people are playing something you created and put your soul into. Which is exactly what I intend to do.
