TriXie Interviews Jade

Also known as the "TriXie of Canada," Jade is a hip gamer chick who plays games, interviews gamers, and hits the Xbox® party circuit.

TriXie: Is Jade your gamertag?

Jade: While I tried my hardest to score Jade as my gamertag, according to the gamertag database someone from Fort Collins, Colorado snagged it first. So I settled on JadeLive and it's serving me well.

TriXie: So where do you live?

Jade: Toronto, Canada, also known as the T Dot, Hogtown, and the Centre of the (Canadian) Universe.

TriXie: Why do Canadians say "Aboot"?

Jade: Wootoover dude, yoor crazy. We don’t say "aboot", eh!

TriXie: What's your favorite game for Xbox?

Jade: I seriously loved The Collective’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer™.The gameplay was way too much fun, and having James Marsters actually voice Spike in the game really did me in. Now if they would only make a mod to let me play through as Willow …

TriXie: Favorite game for Xbox 360™?

Jade: At this very moment, I am right into Call of Duty® 2, but that's only until The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™ comes out. After that, I am lost to the land of Cyrodiil.

TriXie: Favorite Xbox Live® Arcade game?

Jade: Hexic® HD… it's all Hexic, all the time. Damn you Microsoft® for making such a hypnotic, addictive game when I should be pumping up my achievements and gamerscore by actually finishing Kameo™ and Call of Duty 2.

TriXie: Damn you for getting the Oystermeister achievement. I will never be able to make a black pearl! Best game of all time?

Jade: Tough question, but I would have to say that my best old-school game was without a doubt M.U.L.E . (my first true videogame addiction). And, more recently, I would have to say best game would go down to a shootout between Diablo and Baldur's Gate™, with the tie going to the Canadians of course.

TriXie: Favorite cartoon character?

Jade: Cartoons are for kids … but okay, I do have a soft spot for SpongeBob SquarePants.

TriXie: Who doesn’t? Game character that is most like you?

Jade: Funny enough, I would have to say Jade from Beyond Good & Evil. Her relentless pursuit of the truth—something that often gets her into trouble—is a lot like me. And maybe a little Taki from Soul Edge, deceptively scrappy with a sweet side.

TriXie: Best film?

Jade: So hard to choose just one, but Pulp Fiction, Breaking the Waves, Goodfellas, The Usual Suspects, and, most recently, Crash (not the creepy David Cronenberg version) are among my absolute favorite films of all time.

TriXie: My favorite line from Suspects: "Who stole the f’in truck. What the f---." Best album?

Jade: This year it is without a doubt Gorillaz—Demon Days.

TriXie: Oh. So. Good. Band you'd want to tour with?

Jade: Green Day. I saw them this summer on the American Idiot tour and they completely rocked. They know how to have a good time, so that's a band to get with. Or, if Led Zeppelin decides to hit the road again, I'd jump on that tour bus faster than a fat kid on a Smartie (to the unenlightened, that's the Canadian, more colourful version of M&Ms).

TriXie: Aw, that's so cute how you spell colorful in that adorable messed-up Canadian way. And don’t knock M&Ms. Last book you read?

Jade: Beth Lisick's Everybody into the Pool. It's a hilarious read, highly recommended.

TriXie: Hot celeb you'd want to be shipwrecked with?

Jade: Tom Welling for the eye candy factor, or James Marsters, but only if he speaks in his fake British accent.

TriXie: I'm a sucker for a southern accent myself. But meanwhile I saw you checking out Master Chief at the holiday party—hands off! He's mine!

Jade: TriXie, you know the boys can't resist the Canadian girls; we're just too much fun.

TriXie: Yeah whatever. When he's sick of maple syrup he'll come back to apple pie.
