Gamer Spotlight:

Trixie

TriXie: I’m extremely interested in your Gamertag … for obvious reasons.

Trixie: All my boyfriend’s friends call me Trixie. I’m really not sure why I got that name exactly. All of my boyfriend’s friends have been given a certain nickname by this guy named Gene. We all have the same nickname for a last name, which is poolyeah. So I got the nickname Trixie Poolyeah. I get asked numerous times a day if I'm the girl from Xbox Live.

TriXie: I always get asked if I’m real. I’m also frequently accused of being a ‘bot or Major Nelson in drag. Where do you live?

Trixie: I'm from Bangor, Maine.

TriXie: Ahhh, Stephen King country. What do you do in Bangor?

Trixie: I'm in my last year of college actually. I’m getting my associates [degree] in early childhood development.

TriXie: That’s cool. What's the worst job you've ever had?

Trixie: I would have to say my worst job was my first job. I was around 11, I would say. I worked across the street at a small store sorting bottles. It was absolutely gross.

TriXie: “Ninety-nine bottles of beer on the wall …” Everybody sing! How long have you been on XboxLive?

Trixie: I activated my account last May.

TriXie: Do you have an arch enemy on XboxLive?

Trixie: I have a few—mostly guys. Guys hate getting beat by a girl, and I love to talk smack, so I tend to make a few enemies every now and then.

TriXie: Big babies. How much time do you spend on Xbox Live?

Trixie: I play as much as I can. On average, I would say I play at least four to five times a week, and I play an average of four hours at a time. I usually play at night after I'm done studying.

TriXie: Is your boyfriend cool about your XboxLive time?

Trixie: My boyfriend actually plays online as well. We’re usually in the same room together if we’re both online. His Gamertag is Steelers95.

TriXie: Describe your Xbox setup.

Trixie: We have two Xbox consoles set up in two different rooms. The downstairs setup belongs to my boyfriend, and his set up is out of control. He has a 30-inch widescreen HDTV with a home theater of 5.1 surround sound. It’s sweet looking and sounding. My setup is in my room. I have a 20-inch flat screen hooked up to my Sony stereo. I have a gamer chair parked right in front of my television. It's pretty cool as well.

TriXie: Hmmm … might qualify for the Ultimate XboxLive Setup. What's the best feature of XboxLive?

Trixie: I would say that I get to play with all my friends and actually get to talk to them. I love playing online with people I know personally because I can talk smack to them and have a blast as well.

TriXie: What feature would you like to see on XboxLive?

Trixie: I think it would be cool to be able to see a person’s profile online. That way you could find people in your area to play with.

TriXie: What makes someone good to play against?

Trixie: Someone who is a skillful player. When you play against someone who knows what they’re doing, it’s more of a challenge to play against them. I love it when I play with someone that keeps me on my toes. Newbies are way too easy to kill.

TriXie: But that’s how they learn! What makes a good teammate?

Trixie: A good teammate is someone who you have a good time playing with. I play in an all-girls clan called PMS, and I love all the girls I play with. We have great communication skills and we always watch each others’ back.

TriXie: What’s your favorite XboxLive-enabled game?

Trixie: Rainbow Six 3 of course!

TriXie: What future Xbox Live-enabled game are you most looking forward to?

Trixie: Tetris 2. No, I'm kidding. I can't wait for Halo 2 to come out. We used to have a geek night here at the house where we linked consoles together and we would play Halo for hours on end. We’re all waiting with anticipation for Halo 2 to come out.

TriXie: Yeah, I think there’s a few of us that feel the same way. What’s your favorite offline Xbox game?

Trixie: Right now I don't really have one because I play online all the time now. But, I did play a lot ofTony Hawk 4 and some Splinter Cellas well.

TriXie: Any tips for gamers?

Trixie: My strategy is to try to outfox the fox. I like to keep my opponent on his or her toes. Just when they think I'm going to be in one place, I go somewhere else and take them out.

TriXie: Clever girl. What's the most obnoxious thing gamers do on Xbox Live?

Trixie: People that cheat. I hate cheaters, and it drives me mad when people have to cheat to win. Why bother playing if you have to have Action Replay on to beat me?

TriXie: What do you think is the best game of all time?

Trixie: In my opinion I would say Ms. Pac-Man. I still play that when I go to the arcade. I wonder how much money I’ve spent playing that game over the years …

TriXie: It’s best not to think about it. Best film of all time?

Trixie: I love to watch movies, but I would say the best movie would have to be The Shawshank Redemption.

TriXie: Great movie, but isn’t it weird that there’s not a single chick in it? (Except for Tim Robbins’ cheatin’ wife.) How about best album of all time?

Trixie: Ozzie Osborne's No Rest for the Wicked.

TriXie: You’re hardcore, ma’am! What's the funniest thing you've ever heard on Xbox Live?

Trixie: I crack up on a daily basis usually, but the funniest thing is reading people's Gamertags. I have run in to some that are hilarious.

TriXie: What’s your greatest Xbox Livemoment?

Trixie: My greatest moment online, I guess, would be the time our clan won against some serious campers. We played for almost five hours for one stinking match, and we finally won.

TriXie: What’s a TV show that you never miss?

Trixie: Finally a new season of The Sopranos came out two weeks ago, and I won't miss an episode.

TriXie: What's your favorite TV show that's no longer running?

Trixie: I absolutely loved Seinfeld.

TriXie: Is your inner diva more like Madonna, J.Lo., or Christina?

Trixie: None of the above. They’re all dirty as far as I'm concerned. My inner diva is more like Gwen Stefani. She’s unique, and I really like her style.

TriXie: Yeah, Gwen rocks. By the way, I think Christina considers “dirty” a compliment. If they made a movie about your life, who should play you?

Trixie: Oh gosh, um ... Julia Roberts. We both have long curly red hair.

TriXie: What's your karaoke song?

Trixie: “Believe” by Cher.

TriXie: What cartoon character do you think is most like you?

Trixie: Pepper Ann. She has crazy red hair and is kind of a tomboy, which I was growing up.

TriXie: What super power would you like to have?

Trixie: I guess a cool super power would be the ability to read peoples’ minds. I wonder sometimes what people really think when I am talking with them. It would be cool to see if someone is lying to me or not.

Trixie: It’s interesting—girls seem to pick mind reading or flying. Guys go for X-ray vision.

TriXie: If you could trade places with anyone for one day, who would it be?

Trixie: I would love to trade places with Jack Black. He cracks me up.

TriXie: Oh, I LOVE him! Call me, Jack! Seriously. My number is 1.800.4MY.XBOX. What celebrity would be the worst roommate?

Trixie: Puck. From MTV's Real World. He was a pig.

TriXie: That’s an insult to pigs everywhere. If you had to come back as an animal in the next life, what would you be?

Trixie: A cat of course.

TriXie: Who's your favorite superhero?

Trixie: I liked Spider Man.

TriXie: Hot celeb you'd like to shack up with?

Trixie: Matthew McConaughey. He is absolutely hot.

TriXie: Oh man, he was surface-of-the-sun hot in A Time to Kill. What's the worst food you've ever eaten?

Trixie: Tofu. It tasted like cardboard.

TriXie: Yeah, me no likey. What's a book you wish you'd written?

Trixie: Green Eggs and Ham. It's a classic.

TriXie: I’m gonna tell you one last time. I would not, could not with a goat. If you could go on tour with any band, which would it be?

Trixie: Tenacious D. I bet they would be a blast to hang out with.

TriXie: What do you predict will be the “next big thing” in gaming?

Trixie: When Halo 2 comes out, I think the big thing will be clan matches. Everyone I know will be playing it.

TriXie: What are you hoping for in the next Xbox console?

Trixie: I hope it has even better graphics than the first Xbox. Not saying the first one stinks or anything.

TriXie: Understood. What would you like to be doing in 10 years?

Trixie: I would like to be self-employed, working with children with special needs. In 10 years I hope I will be married and have my own house. Maybe a dog, some fish, who knows? I have a hard enough time figuring out what to do tomorrow!

TriXie: Well you know one thing for sure: Play Xbox Live! Thanks Trixie.
