TriXie interviews U.S. Xbox Cup winners

Before they headed off to Berlin to represent the United States in the Xbox Cup, TriXie got Team U.S. to answer a few important questions—including their picks (as of June 20) to win the World Cup.

Eddie ‘gyro24’ Terrell is 17 years old, from Brownsburg, Indiana. Eddie finished second in the leaderboard competition to earn his spot on the squad.

TriXie: How long have you been an Xbox Live® member?

gyro24: I got Xbox Live as soon as I got my Xbox®, so I guess I've been a member for about 3 years (I was late to join the side of Microsoft).

TriXie: What games do you play besides FIFA?

gyro24: I play Call of Duty® 2 with my friends as well as Halo®, but I'll take a crack at any sports game I can get my hands on.

TriXie: Who are you bringing to Germany as your guest?

gyro24: I'm bringing my Dad because I'm a minor, but I'm pretty sure I'd bring him anyway.

TriXie: What do you do when you're not gaming?

gyro24: I play tennis all the time (it's my main sport), but I'm in an indoor soccer league with my friends. I'll play soccer at any given opportunity.

TriXie: Have you ever been to Europe before?

gyro24: Yes, I went to London in December of 2005 to play in the FIFA Interactive World Cup. I had a great time playing with the best FIFA players in the world, and it was also nice to put some faces to the names I'd seen on Xbox Live.

TriXie: Who do you think will win the World Cup?

gyro24: I had picked Spain before the tournament started, and they're still looking good. But Argentina is looking like the best team in the tournament, and we all know Brazil will be able to turn it on at any time. Germany has a chance as well, especially with the backing of the home crowd.

TriXie: What's the best thing about Xbox 360™?

gyro24: I'd love to say Xbox Live, the Marketplace, or the game selection, but my favorite thing about the Xbox 360 is being able to turn off the system with the controller. There was nothing worse than having to get out of bed to turn my system off, and Xbox 360 has effectively ended that problem. But all that other stuff is great, too :)

David ‘Clockw0rk0range’ McLeese booked his place in the squad by winning the online leaderboard competition on Xbox Live®. David an 18 year old from Dix Hills, New York.

TriXie: How long have you been an Xbox Live member?

Clockw0rk0range: I have been an Xbox Live member for about three years now.

TriXie: What games do you play besidesFIFA?

Clockw0rk0range: I enjoy playing games likeHalo 2, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter®, Call of Duty 2 and The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion™.

TriXie: Who are you bringing to Germany as your guest?

Clockw0rk0range: I am bringing one of my good friends, who also plays FIFA and loves soccer.

TriXie: What do you do when you're not gaming?

Clockw0rk0range: When I'm not gaming, I enjoy playing soccer, listening to music, and practicing the cello.

TriXie:Have you ever been to Europe before?

Clockw0rk0range: I have only been to Europe once when I was very young. I went to France which was extremely exciting because Paris is filled with things to do. I can't wait to get to Germany because it has a lot to offer, culturally and historically.

TriXie: Who do you think will win the World Cup?

Clockw0rk0range: I believe England will win the World Cup. It's been 40 years since England has won a World Cup, and I believe their time is now. Although I am in full support of the American squad, I believe that the competition will be too tough for them this year.

TriXie: What's the best thing about Xbox 360?

Clockw0rk0range: The graphics! Xbox 360 is a great system and all of the games are high quality. The machine is powerful yet very fluid.

Greg ‘MUSoccer’ Hengeli completes the team, having won the Ultimate Fan competition on the Xboxcup.com website. Greg, 25 years old, from Hinckley, Ohio, will be supporting the other players and following them to all the games.

TriXie: How long have you been an Xbox Live member?

MUSoccer: Since November 2004.

TriXie: What games do you play besides FIFA?

MUSoccer: I play Halo 2, Geometry Wars, and Perfect Dark Zero™.

TriXie: Who are you bringing to Germany as your guest?

MUSoccer: My girlfriend Lindsey.

TriXie: What do you do when you’re not gaming?

MUSoccer: I play soccer, travel, and work.

TriXie: Have you ever been to Europe before?

MUSoccer: Yes, I took a week-long trip to Italy after graduating college in the summer of 2003.

TriXie: Who do you think will win the World Cup?

MUSoccer: Argentina.

TriXie: What's the best thing about Xbox 360?

MUSoccer: Xbox Live Arcade.
