TriXie Interviews Hoobastank's Doug Robb
It’s been a few months since Hoobastank visited Xbox to play Xbox Live subscribers online. Since then, the band released its latest CD The Reason, which has been climbing the charts and generated a hit single, also called “The Reason.” The week of April 17, The Reason hit number 19 and took “Greatest Gainer” on Billboard’s Top Albums chart, and the single rose to #23 on the Hot 100. It seems like the perfect time to publish TriXie’s interview with lead singer Doug Robb.
TriXie: I’ve been listening to your previous CD, the self-titled Hoobastank, and I’m trying to figure out which songs would be good to listen to while you’re playing a butt-kicking game like MechAssault or Castle Wolfenstein. What do you think?
Doug: I’d say “Pieces” and “Give it Back.”
TriXie: Who’s the best gamer in the band?
Doug: Me. I play the most.
TriXie: So you think you’re up to the challenge from New Found Glory? They say they can kick your ass.
Doug: In what?
TriXie:ESPN NBA Basketball.
Doug: I don’t play much basketball. I’m a football guy. But if I have some time to play it, I’ll mop up the floor with New Found Glory.
TriXie: If you could be in any band in the history of the world, what would it be?
Doug: The Beatles. It would be interesting to see what that was like. Either that or be Elvis.
TriXie: What do you think is the best game ever?
Doug:Halo. That’s up there. And the first Madden on Sega Genesis. I was absolutely addicted to it. I started a league with my friends back in 1990 or ’91. I was obsessed with that game.
TriXie: Thanks Doug, and congratulations to you and all the Hoobastank guys!
