NBA STREET Homecourt is one of those games, and there are few more satisfying moments of dominance than your opponent's dead silence after you make a Trifecta dunk off the back of a teammate when you're all hopped up on a Gamebreaker. Those precious moments where your opponent can only shake their head in shame before your triumphant laughter bursts through their headset are truly priceless.

The sport of street basketball is built on showmanship and one-upmanship. It is a natural showcase for embarrassing an opponent, and solidifying your alpha-male (or alpha-female) status beyond even the most discerning doubt. NBA STREET Homecourt provides the opportunity for all of this, but before you crown yourself the king of the asphalt, check out these challenges.
Street Players
Wave off the NBA elite trying to make your team, and only recruit the original streetball players until at least after you're been crowned champ of Ash Park. Even then, shy away from big-name ballers like Kobe, LeBron, Shaq, and the rest of the all stars. Breaking down all star teams only with street players and NBA journeymen is the best way to prove your mastery.
Bounce the Big Guy
Far too much reliance is placed by novice NBA STREET players on using big, powerful centers to bounce every would-be-dunker out of the paint. If you're rocking Shaq, Ben Wallace, Emeka Okafor, and the like to maintain your D for you, reexamine your claim to hardcore status. Let skill, not brawn, be your defensive priority.
'Melo should be competition, not a teammate.
Trick Ratio
I'm already tired of seeing fools climb the Gamebreaker ladder by hitting their tricks away from defenders, and taking up every moment of the shot clock. This tiresome, tedious habit must go. To truly earn your Gamebreaker, attempt tricks face-to-face with your defender, which will earn you a multiplier, instead of shying away from confrontation.
Freaking Out
Early on in the Homecourt Challenge, you'll earn the right to Freak (read: Max out) one of your skills. Abandon all thoughts of topping off your skills in Dunking, Shooting, or Handles, though. Let those skills depend on your skill alone. Instead, choose something like Passing or Block/Rebounds that will not tip the scales too far in your favor.
You just going to let that happen?
Default Gear
The path to legendary status should be a long and grueling one, a road filled with small triumphs and heart-breaking losses as you battle the best. To further the challenge, use the unlocked gear as a nice bonus after you wrap up the Homecourt Challenge, but play through without using this advantage to really earn it.
Shots Only
A true veteran of Homecourt will come to dominate casual players online, so to even the odds, play for shots only when you've got the ball, without racking points up with dunks and layups. Finding the right moment to let the ball fly without getting blocked requires timing and strategy, both skills a hardcore player should have in abundance.
Those that lay claim to the Homecourt Challenge title deserve a nod of recognition, but those that climb to the top while adhering to the preceding limitations deserve true hardcore acclaim. Can you hack it? Hit the court and prove it.
