  • Hardcore's tips for taking your EA Sports Fight Night Round 3 skill to the next level.

What's more hardcore than beating a man unconscious with a flurry of bone-crunching blows? I can think of a few answers for that, but that's best left for another time. When laying your opponent flat on the mat, cracking jaws and rib-cages is a fine way to start.

Not only does EA SPORTS™ Fight Night Round 3 provide that kind of thrill, but it's teeming with sweat and testosterone to boot; hard to go wrong there.

Punch and scowl. Nice combination.

If you think that you can make it through the ring with your button-mashing prowess alone, you've got another thing coming. Lucky for you, my little gaming prodigies, I've put Cheeto-greased fingers to keyboard and put together this handy list of tips to keep you on your toes.

KO'd or No
First, those enamored enough of themselves to refer themselves as "hardcore" cannot be satisfied by a "decision" win. No man can gloat when it's the judges, and not your sheer skill and power that decides the outcome. No sir, it's beat-em-down or don't beat them at all in this game. A knockout, plain and simple, is what gets the job done. Nothing else is worth grinning about.

Remember, these tips help you calculate
just how much of a badass you really are.

No Tyson Shenanigans
Though you could make an argument that biting the top of a man's ear off is pretty extreme, that's not quite the kind of activity I want to be associated with. Besides, there's no better way to be branded a coward than by cheating, so don't go down the road of low-blows and head-butts. That kind of tomfoolery just doesn't fly around here.

Sans Haymakers
Anyone can get lucky with the right punch at the right time, but if you hold back the urge to lay down the signature punches and haymakers, you can be sure that it's a well timed volley of hooks, jabs, straights, and uppercuts that put your opponent down for the count. Don't lean on luck, but win on skill and skill alone to get the respect you crave.

Without a Moment's Rest
I don't know about you, but the excitement of boxing isn't found in the moments of desperate hugging (uh, they call it "clinching") when a fighter needs a breather, so you can just go ahead and cut that of your repertoire. If you can't manage the stamina of your boxer, you deserve to be breathing heavy and punching sluggishly.

Climbing the Ladder
In your soon-to-be distinguished (I hope) boxing career, make sure you fight the contenders, not the pretenders. Don't let yourself gratify your already massive ego by beating up on a bunch of has-beens. Make sure you sign contracts to fight the best possible fighter at the time and prove that your gaming skill that can get the job done.

Remember, these here aren't tips for getting better; they're tips to help you calculate just how much of a badass you really are when you step into the ring. If you can win under these circumstances, man, you've got all the respect you need coming from yours truly.
