WCG Grand Final Group Drawings

The countdown to the World Cyber Games 2007 Grand Final in Seattle has begun with the completion of the group drawing, held on September 5. With over 1.3 million competitors from 75 participating countries now shaved down to an elite 700, the final stage is set for these top participants to compete at the highest level of competitive gaming, while representing their countries at the Grand Final this October.
As new gamers and teams prepare for their first WCG Grand Final, a number of the best players from previous tournaments are set to return better than ever. Some of the most notable players returning include: Team Pentagram G-Shock from Poland, competing in CounterStrike™, Xiofeng (SKYCN) Li from China in WarCraft®III: Frozen Throne™, and Daniel (Hero) Schellhase from Germany in FIFA Soccer 07™.
Group Draw Results
The results of the group draw were announced via live flash service through the WCG official website in Seoul on September 5. Game fans from all over the world can now view the results of the group by logging onto www.worldcybergames.com.
Based on previous WCG Grand Final results, Group G in CounterStrike looks to be among the most competitive groups in the tournament. Featuring premiere players like Fnatic from Sweden, Four-Kings from England, and g3nerationX from Brazil, Group G will likely be one of the most anticipated draws this year. In addition, the Silver medalist in WCG 2006, Yoan (4k_ToD) Merlo from France, meets Jae Ho (Moon_Spirit) Moon from Korea in Group B.

Tournament Structure
The tournament structure of the WCG 2007 Grand Final consists of a full group league, followed by a single elimination tournament and culminating with the championship match for each game. The number of groups in a full league and the number of players in each tournament will be determined based on the final number of participants.
