TriXie's Travels: New York
Video Monkey and I traveled to New York on Friday for the World Cyber Games US Open. It was about 75 degrees and muggy when we arrived.
Saturday morning we headed to Columbus Circle, home of the Time Warner building where the day's festivities took place at the Samsung Experience Center.
First up was Dead or Alive® 4. o M A S T E R o pulled a Babe Ruth and accurately predicted his placement in the Dead or Alive tournament.
o M A S T E R o and PMS Vanessa duked it out in the final round while Athena Twin PMS and Bruce from esportstv.com looked on. Master pulled off a win, but both DOA 4 champs scored a trip to Cancun, Mexico later this month for the WCG Pan-American Championship.
Ruben, from New Delhi, India tries his hand at the walk-up Tony Hawk's Project 8™ competition. The two highest scorers from the weekend will win a berth at the National Finals in September.
Mike Hooper, Group Marketing Manager from Xbox® is clearly after my job! Next up was Project Gotham Racing® 3 featuring some of the fastest guys in videogame racing.
Joe, an admin for World Cyber Games, tells the boys which track they'll be racing on. He keeps things running smoothly and makes sure everyone plays fair. First Nurburgring, then Vegas.
xXxMAX1MUSxXxand D2C Ch0mpr raced on Nurburgring and then Vegas. Max kept it close, but in the end Ch0mpr remains undefeated in World Cyber Games competition.
Good game, man. The guys are all smiles—ch0mper took first place, but they'll both be going to Cancun!
