On the final day of the World Cyber Games Grand Finals, the action heated up on the show floor.

The girls were working their mojo at the GamerchiX booth bright and early this morning. Participation was no problem with three or more GamerchiX on duty at all times. Behavior is another issue, however, as The Don Wan and Cayote thwart my photographic efforts.
You can't argue with their results though, as they engaged and recruited hundreds of women this weekend. The 'chiX shirts were staggered over time so that there were enough. Two of them even set up a "Beat the GamerchiX" Halo® 3 competition (and so far, they are undefeated).

As the day went on we decided that we wanted to see what the referees were up to now that there are only a few actual matches going on. Here are the referees taking a break to apply their moderating skills to the Internet.

Here the referees are rigorously testing this new PC game to see if it complies to internationally recognized professional gaming regulations. In their down time they also regulate the trash can, in which you may not dispose of recyclables, at the risk of heavy-handed sanctions.

The refs at this station seem to be taking a last-minute, pre-finals look, at Gears of War® to make sure that it's still a hell of a lot of fun. They took a thorough and meticulous look at the game, at the end of which they decided we were still good to go.

At the Guitar Hero™ III: Legends of Rock booth the referees were lined up to test the Qwest Event Center's capacity for Rock and Roll. Sure, Rock Kills Kid thrashed the main stage, but had anybody tested the East Hall? No, and such stalwart attention to detail is the mark of a true, professional referee.

This really has nothing to do with referees, but those are some sharp jump suits on the Canadian team. The Team USA jackets are nice, but it's safe to say that our chances would have been greatly improved if we'd gone all the way with some fetching jump suits.
