Thousands of participants from around the Pacific Northwest will compete in the 2008 Washington Games. Sanctioned by the National Congress of State Games, driven by the Seattle Sports Commission and sponsored by Xbox 360, the Washington Games is a sports festival bringing together athletes of all ages and skill levels to promote sports, recreation, fitness, and physical activity.
The events take place throughout the region all during the month of July, and feature more than twenty different sports ranging from archery to wrestling. In 2008, more than 7,500 participants are scheduled to compete, with more than twice that number expected to be in attendance at the events.
