About the Creators
TriLinea was created by a trio of gamers from São Paulo, Brazil. Here's what they had to say about their game:
Edison S Prata Jr. (Age 28)
How long have you been making games? "Since I started learning programming about 16 years ago, I started doing some small and very simple games in Basic, and then when a move to C and Assembly I started doing some more complex demos, and engine design."
Have you made other games prior to this one? "Some small non-finished games, until recently I worked more on playing around with ideias for a game engine instead of a game itself."
Do you have a college degree in game design, programming, or computer science? "I started Computer Engineering but I quit it because the pace was too slow for me because I've programmed since I was 12 years old."
Why did you make your game? "After trying to develop some medium to big games without finishing them due to lack of resources, we decided to do a game that we can finish by ourselves with our own resources. When Microsoft announced the DreamBuildPlay, we thought that was a good opportunity to make a smaller, but fun game. We started developing it only two weeks before DBP deadline and we couldn't make to the Top 20. Still believing in our project we continue developing it and now it's shaping up really nicely."
Why do you want to be in the games industry? "I remember playing some games and trying to understanding how it work, how it was created. later, a game magazine published a article about game designers and programers and I became really interested in creating my own games, so I tried to learn everything about programming languages, game design all about the software and techniques used to create games, I started with Basic then I did learn C and Assembly because those was what game programmers used, It was at that time that I discover that this was what I want do, create games, create great experiences for other people to play, It became my dream to start my own company and make the best games I can, I realized that i like to develop games as much as I like to play them."
Davi da Silva Prata (Age 27)
How long have you been making games? "I have been working with games around 10 years, trying some ideas that helped me learning from my mistakes. For the last two years, we have been considering games more profissionaly with not only dreams, but also goals and plans."
Have you made other games prior to this one? "Only non-finished projects."
Do you have a college degree in game design, programming, or computer science? "I studied Design for two years."
Why did you make your game? "Our goal was to develop a fun and addicting game. We think a puzzle game is a good opportunity for creating a good game with good targeted consumers and low production costs."
Why do you want to be in the games industry? "I've always wanted to do that. I started making games for Commodore Amiga in 1994. From that time, I have always working and searching for a good way to enter this industry more professionally."
Renato Pelizzari da Silva (Age 24)
How long have you been making games? "I started making games during my graduation, around 2004. But projects were all related to my academic life."
Have you made other games prior to this one? "I have put on paper some of my game concepts, but this is the first one that's really taking shape as a full game."
Do you have formal education/a college degree in game design, programming or computer science? If so, which? "I graduated in Computer Science on São Paulo University last year."
Why did you make your game? "We believe puzzle games demands less financial resources, but concept has to be pretty strong. Puzzle gamers are also very welcoming with new ideas and that would make TriLinea our first possible and good game."
Why do you want to be in the games industry? "I am a gamer since 2 years old. From that age until now, I could experience different worlds, feelings and sensations through games. It became my passion and now I think I can take profit of all my acquired knowledge since my childhood to produce those new experiences to more people. Despite of the fact it can be profitable, game industry is a way of expressing art. All those facts combined dragged me into this industry and I do not intend quitting it."
