About the Creator
Fuel N Spark Games was formed in Spring of 2007 by Patrick Murty and Tyler Wanlass, graduates of the Art Institute of California, San Diego - Game Art and Design Bachelors program. When looking for a way to feed their shared creative spark they discovered Microsoft's Dream Build and Play contest for XNA development. They assembled a small team and the result was Rocketball, a fast-paced arcade styled dodgeball game.

"We received third place prizes in the contest. Our goal is to create bite-sized entertainment and technology for downloadable markets and platforms such as Xbox LIVE Arcade. We believe fun gameplay and social interaction should be at the heart of all great downloadable games."

Tyler Wanlass, 23 years old, has been making games for eight years. Produced several mods, flash games, and involved in creation of a AAA commercial product for publisher Vivendi for Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. Formally educated in Game Art and Design. Graduated with Bachelors of Science from Art Institute of California, San Diego. "I'm in the game industry because it is a rewarding place to be, filled with so much opportunity to be creative and work with other great minds."

Patrick Murty, 31 years old, has been making games for four years. Worked on some mods and currently involved in the production of a AAA commercial game at The Collective Studios for Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. Graduated with Bachelors of Science (Honors) degree in Game Art and Design from Art Institute of California, San Diego. "Making games provides an opportunity to collaborate and work in a creative environment where the final product fills both young and old with the same sense of awe inspiration that I experience when playing games."

Todd Barron (recent addition to core team as a lead programmer), is 36 years old and has been making games for 20 years. Involved in the production of The Covenant, an RPG published for the Amiga platform, 16 games for the Merit Megatouch XL and Megatouch 2000 arcade platforms. A self-taught programmer starting over 20 years ago with Assembly, then Basic, C, C++, etc. "Being the designer or a key player in the creation of video games that entertains so many is a great reward."

Why did we make our game?

"We were new to the XNA platform and wanted to compete in Microsoft's 2007 Dream Build Play event. It was a great opportunity to get some exposure and cut our teeth on the platform. We also enjoy entertaining people whether it is through preparing a good meal or writing a fun video game.  Seeing other people enjoy our work is satisfying in itself. Taking third place in the DBP wasn't bad either!"
