Three years ago, Proximity became an incredibly popular free browser game, played by millions worldwide while they were bored at home, work, or school. Now, three years later, the creator of Proximity has developed a thoughtful and worthy sequel using the powerful XNA technology, packing it with many new features, including four player co-op or competitive multiplayer.
Capture tiles in this strategy game.
Proximity takes the essence of strategy games—battles for control of territory and armies—and distills it down to a simple, easy to understand set of rules that makes the genre more accessible to casual players than ever before. The rules are very simple, yet still allow for many interesting scenarios, much like Othello or Risk.
Each turn can take as little as five seconds, keeping the intensity of the game high and at a fast pace. This submission highlights the core gameplay, user interface, team support, artificial intelligence, and some of the features that will be in the final version of the game. The final game is expected to have special board tiles, missions with unique challenges, statistics, more game options, two more game modes, and Xbox Live support. Have fun, and capture lots of tiles!
