Little Gamers

Little Gamers is a 2-D action side-scroller which borrows many gameplay elements from action games such as Metal Slugs and Madness Interactive and mixes them with the webcomic feel and humor of the webcomic "Little Gamers" to create a unique cute but deadly combination.

During his travels all around the world in 16 action-packed levels (only five in the demo), Mr. Madsen, the main protagonist, faces many enemies like hippies, zombies, pirates, and ninjas. Every weapon held by your opponents (and yes, that includes bosses) can be picked up and used to defend yourself—that includes more than 30 weapons available throughout the game. Many power-ups will be available during his journey, ranging from beer to the deadliest flower ever known to humanity.

Blast your way through colorful worlds.

About the Creator
Loïc Dansartis a 24-year old software developer from Belgium. He works for a company installing broadband internet via satellite on high-speed trains. The game is made in collaboration with the authors of the webcomic "Little Gamers." We recently caught up with Loïc to ask about his game.

How long have you been making games? "I've been making games ever since I was young. Back then it was not video games but simple battery-operated games. I've dismantled almost every 'electric game' that I had when I was a kid and created (with the help of a soldering gun) new games with the pieces. I especially liked remote controlled circuits. Then later on I discovered the computer and the joy of programming, and naturally moved on to video game development."

Have you made other games prior to this one? "I've worked on several projects, which were mostly left unfinished and unreleased. Little Gamers is my first 'big' project."

Do you have a college degree in game design, programming, or computer science? "I have a degree in computer science (mostly programming, hardware, and a lot of networking)."

Why did you make your game? "I really wanted to make a fast-paced action game, with lots of weapons and blood; as I was a faithful reader of the web comic Little Gamers I decided that their style would fit the genre perfectly, since there is such a big contrast between the cute characters an their adult personality. So I created a simple prototype and e-mailed it to the authors who gave me the green light to use their IP in my game."

Why do you want to be in the games industry? "I've always loved creating things from scratch for other people to enjoy. Also someone told me that chicks dig game designers. It's true, right?"
