Thursday night at the Game Developer Conference, Microsoft hosted two parties in San Francisco. The first was the Women in Gaming party put on by Microsoft's Diversity team at Roe Restaurant, on Howard Street.
The XNA party was a a big hit for the GamerchiX.
It was an opportunity to bring talented women in the gaming industry together for an evening of networking and fun. Shane Kim, Laura Fryer, and Kiki Wolfkill spoke to the crowd, and then members of Xbox GamerchiX took up the controllers to play Gears of War® with the crowd.
Shane Kim makes a special appearance at Women in Gaming.
Later that evening was the XNA party put on by the XNA team at Microsoft. This was a large venue, a big crowd and there was a long line to get in. Once inside, partygoers could find a quiet corner in which to catch up with old industry friends, have some drinks, get hands-on with the XNA Games Studio Express Challenge games, eat sushi, or even check out the belly dancers!
