Beto Cuevas recorded ten albums with well-known Chilean band La Ley, but after they broke up in 2005, Cuevas started working on his solo career as both an actor and musician. His first album, Miedo Escénico, released in 2008, and its hit single "Vuelvo" has cemented his reputation as a songwriter. He says, "Calling the album Miedo Escénico is kind of an irony about the moment in which the artist is filled with an atrocious feeling of uncertainty before jumping on stage, which is the feeling that keeps me alive, but in exchange of what is around. Before recording the album there wasn’t any feeling of doubt or uncertainty, everything was marked by the irony of saying the opposite to miedo escénico."
