Avenged Sevenfold RecapPublished May 2, 2008 Xbox LIVE® members had an absolute blast going up against bandmembers of Avenged Sevenfold in Halo® 3 matches on April 15. The band took a break from their Taste of Chaos tour to deliver a little chaos themselves in a gaming environment.
The band was better at Halo 3 than many of our other celebrities. Oh my God, I got to play with A7X twice today, and my team beat them both times. I am so happy! Playing with a celebrity on Xbox LIVE is awesome. Playing with a celebrity in Halo 3 is even more awesome. But playing Halo 3 with one of my favorite bands IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! It was amazing playing with M. Shadows and friends. He killed me, I killed him, OMG, awesome! And I fulfilled one of my lifetime goals. I hoped I could be in a bubble shield with M. Shadows before we started playing because bubble shields rock, and it happened! I can die in peace now because I "Seized the Day"!
Bubble Buddies for life. It was really fun to finally meet a member of Avenged Sevenfold, one of my favorite bands. I played them on their last match of the night, on Valhalla. I got MVP with a total of 14 kills and 6 headshots. M. Shadows came in second with 11 kills. I think that Xbox should try to arrange more of these Game with Fame matches, preferably with musicians and stand-up comedians. It's a really unique experience to play with famous people. Avenged Sevenfold rocks! I have to say, Avenged Sevenfold was a lot better at Halo 3 than I had expected them to be! M. Shadows actually had the most kills on his team in one of the two games I played with him. Anyway, I had an awesome time playing with the band, and I can't wait to go show all of my non-believing friends the replays I have of me and the band. Lastly, I would like close off my lovely recap with a terrible, Avenged Sevenfold based pun: Playing with Avenged Sevenfold was … "Almost Easy"!
M. Shadows enjoyed his Xbox LIVE experience. I had so much fun playing with M. Shadows and "Birthday Boy." I have loved this band since the beginning, and ever since I first heard of Game with Fame, I've been waiting for them. And I actually got to play more rounds with them than anyone else. It was so cool. I would for sure like to play some XBL with him again. Maybe next time we can get all five of them doing it. I got to play one of the first games with A7X. It was Slayer on High Ground. I was on the opposing team of Matt Sanders [M. Shadows' real name]. In the lobby, he was saying how he saw a lot of good players before the round started. Anyways before you know it, the match started with me getting a triple kill right off the bat, and later I got into a 1-on-1 firefight with Matt himself. Afterwards, Matt said, "That was just a warm-up. We're going again." LOL. So the score limit was set to 50 and we went at it again. I was able to get into one more 1-on-1 firefight with Matt, which ended in a pretty sweet grenade bounce off a wall into a fusion coil to kill him. That match ended in 3 min 16 seconds. Afterwards, Matt again said that was a warm-up, but had to get new players in and thanked everybody. Even though the experience was short, it was awesome. I even put the two firefights with Matt in my file share. Yay! I finally got to play in a GWF! M. Shadows was awesome with the Needler. It was 2 vs. 7 (me and TUA Quimbieboy vs. Shadows and six other people.) We won, but we had an awesome time. Maybe a little 7-minute match, but it was well worth it. I can now finally say I got to play a GWF!
Avenged Sevenfold has to pack up and go, but maybe you'll see them on LIVE again. I got to play with them April 15, and it was kickass! I thought it would be way too hard to do it considering other players would try, but I made it! Hahaha, I also betrayed one of them! (Thanks for not booting me!) That was the best Xbox LIVE gaming session ever!  |
