Fall Out Boy RecapGame with Fame took over the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood for a 2-hour Halo® 3 session with Andy Hurley and Joe Trohman from the band Fall Out Boy. Both guys are big fans of Xbox 360™ and had been playing Halo 3 all week for their Game with Fame debut. We set up split screen, invite-only Slayer matches for the event. Before each match, a new round of gamertags was invited to play the guys. The gaming was intense, high-paced and competitive. Both musicians were impressed with the gamers' Halo 3 skills and Fall Out Boy knowledge. Here's what some of the lucky fans who got to play with them had to say:
Joe and Andy take on the Xbox LIVE® community in Halo 3. I got the chance to play with Andy from Fall Out Boy today. It was a joy to get to talk to Andy, he seems like a really nice, great guy. In our game we were usually the only 2 talking since everyone else was busy playing the game. But all in all, it was an enjoyable experience. If you see this Andy, make sure to add me if you have a real Gamertag! I just wanted to give my feedback about the matchup with Joe and Andy. The guys were cool and down to earth. They are guys my age with the life I wish I could have. I was naturally excited, it being my first "Game with Fame." While they were not the best players, they did just like their song says. They went down swinging, and with a few laughs too. Thanks for a good time Xbox Gods. I look forward to the next challenge! I just got done playing a couple rounds of Halo 3 with Joe and Andy from Fall Out Boy, and let me just thank you for setting up this whole Game With Fame program. As a whole, the experience was awesome. I only got to play two rounds with them, but it was very satisfying. I played a Slayer with them and was able to beat them down a couple of times which was very cool. How many people can say that they beat down Andy from Fall Out Boy in Halo 3? I got done playing with Fall Out Boy on Halo 3. At first, I didn't like their music, actually I didn't really like them at all. Until today when I played with them. I first sent them a friend request, because I wanted to brag about playing with famous people. So they accepted it, and then I got on. They sent me a party invite every round they played, except I only played five. Then I had to go. Anyway, they were nice and they were cool. So after I left, I listened to their music and I like it now. Thanks Xbox for giving me a chance to play with the coolest people ever and especially you, Fall Out Boy!  |
