The Roots are Grooving on Xbox LIVE
The Roots, widely known as one of the most entertaining live performers in the music business, are set to kick off the Free Xbox LIVE® Gold Weekend with a special Game with Fame session hosted by Kamal, keyboardist for the musical legends.

The Free Xbox LIVE Gold Weekend, brought to you by Verizon, kicks off on Friday, March 31 and runs through Sunday, April 2. The free weekend is open to every Xbox 360™ gamer.
When you log on to the free weekend this Friday, March 31, 2006, keep an eye out for the gamertag RootsGWF. The hip hop superstar will be playing NBA 2K6 for Xbox 360 from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. Unlike many hip-hop acts, the Roots focus on live instrumentation on stage and in the studio. In their 18-year existence, the Roots have placed a number of hit records and singles on the Billboard 200 charts including their 2004 release, "Tipping Point," which debuted at number four. Currently, the group is nearing the release of their highly anticipated album Game Theory, which is set to drop this Fall.

"Although I have a pretty hectic recording and touring schedule, I can't wait to put the keyboard aside and test my skills against fans on Xbox 360.
