Recap – BLUESIDE and Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom

Saturday, January 19, 2007 was an historic day as the developers of the popular game Kingdom Under Fire™: Circle of Doom came onto Xbox LIVE® and played with gamers from around the world. They liked it so much, they plan on doing it every other day! Here's what they had to say:

Hi Fans!

The event was definitely more than what we expected. As anybody in the industry would tell you, a lot of times people who make a game don't really get much time to try it out, especially with others in a multiplayer environment just for fun's sake. This is most unfortunate, since basically we all love playing games! So when we got this chance to not only have fun, but also to talk to the gamers and hang out with them, it was just too good to be true (you should have seen us trying to strangle each other once we heard that only three of us could partake in this event).

The gamers were great and we were proud of the fact that so many people loved Circle of Doom and were so full of ideas and suggestions for us. In the end, this is what motivates us—not just the cheers and praises, but also the sincere interest and suggestions.

This was an excellent way to directly get in touch with the gamers and our team is thankful that we could experience such pleasing moments of productive fun. (The jokes about looking at the *ahem*"backside" of the Idol of Greed was hilarious, guys). So much, in fact, that we're going to do this more often. See you all on LIVE, folks!

BLUESIDE developers will continue to play the game with Xbox LIVE gamers.

And Xbox LIVE members appreciated the opportunity to play with the BLUESIDE developers:

I recently played with BLUESIDECODEXP and we talked about the game. I was very excited about speaking with a developer and having him listen to my ideas. This is a great idea, coming from a great game as well. I'd like to keep in touch with the developer too as I have many ideas that I'd like to give.

I had the chance to play with one of the developers yesterday, though I honestly didn't think I would get such a chance. He answered questions that I had, as well as some questions that my friend and our other party member had. We even had conversations that weren't directly concerning the game. It was like he was a gamer like anyone else, and it was so much fun to carry on the conversation. It's always a great thing to connect the creators of the game with the gamers that play their games, and I hope that this trend continues with future titles.
