As Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB), Chris Lewis is responsible for driving the growth and success of Xbox 360 and Games for Windows across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
As well as positioning the Xbox and Windows platforms as great gaming and entertainment experiences for consumers across EMEA, Lewis is also instrumental in creating strong business opportunities with Xbox for retail and publishing partners.
Before taking on this role in 2008, Lewis spent four years as Regional Vice President for Retail Sales and Marketing for EMEA, Entertainment and Devices Division (EDD). This included responsibility for driving sales across retail in all Microsoft lines of business including Office and Windows.
Lewis joined Microsoft UK in 1989 to manage the Channel, Education and Mac Channel Sales - as well as driving our OEM relationship with IBM. After developing some of the large systems resellers in the PC and Mac space, he went on to create the first truly focused reseller programme in 1990 – Microsoft Specialist Centres.
Lewis then spent two years in the Enterprise Division, managing Microsoft’s Partner and Select Licensing business, before moving to lead the Corporate Customer Unit in 1996. This included competitive partner recruitment, service readiness, DMR and MCSP programme development and marketing.
Over the years, Lewis has picked up a number of prestigious company awards, including the EMEA Chairman’s award for outstanding leadership and consistent business success from Bill Gates in 1999. Before joining Microsoft, Lewis spent five years in the Electronic Components industry in sales, marketing and general management with STC (Standard Telephones and Cables). He graduated in Business and Economics in 1984.
