Your Gamer Profile

On Xbox Live, every member has his or her own gamer profile, which is a summary of their preferences, achievements, and online personality. Gamer profiles can be used for everything from deciding if the person who just sent you a friend request is worthy of addition to your friends list to creating online matches between players who are similar in background, styles, and skill.

Gamercard

Your gamer profile is accessible from any area of the Xbox Dashboard—just select your gamer card in the upper left to view the elements of your gamer profile, which include the following:

  • Gamer card: Get a quick look at the key stats for your friend or that new player who just challenged you to a multiplayer match. Like a personal identification card, the gamer card gives you a quick overview of other personalities on Xbox Live: their gamertag, Xbox Live Gamer Zone, achievements, reputation, and gamerscore. Gamer cards let you instantly connect with people with similar skills, interests, and lifestyles, as well as show off your achievements and scores.
  • Achievements: Whether offline or on, you can earn achievements and accolades in all Xbox 360 games to indicate progress, skill, and accomplishment. Taking achievements online lets you compare what you've accomplished with your friends, or use them as indicators of skill to new friends. Achievements are bragging rights redefined.
  • Gamerscore: A cumulative score of all achievements that allows you to quickly gauge and compare the accomplishments and experience of other gamers.
  • Xbox Live Gamer Zone: Your gamer zone indicates your style of gaming.
    • Choose Recreation (or R&R) if you just want to hang out and play without undue competitive stress.
    • Choose Pro if you are fiercely competitive and take pride in being the best.
    • Choose Underground if you take an alternative or unusual approach to gaming.
    • Choose Family if you want to make sure your (or your child's) gaming landscape stays kid-friendly.
  • Reputation: A rating provided by the community that indicates how you are perceived by other players. Think of it as the Xbox Live equivalent of a reliability rating.
  • Status: Shows the online status of Xbox Live members. To manually configure your status, press the Xbox Guide button and select Personal Settings, Online Status. Choose from:
    • Online
    • Away
    • Busy
    • Appear Offline

Manage Your Profile

From the Gamer Profile screen you can perform the following activities.

  • View Games: Lists all the games you've played.
  • Edit Gamer Profile: A screen from which you can choose or adjust your gamer picture, motto, gamer zone, gamertag, or privacy settings.
  • View Rep: Provides a summary of your player rep—your reputation on Xbox Live as determined by player reviews submitted about you.
  • Game Defaults: Choose default settings for all games, by game type (settings include difficulty levels, controller sensitivity, movements, break controls, etc.).

  • Account Management: View and manage the following areas:
    • Memberships
    • Contact Information
    • Passport Network Password
    • Xbox Live Pass Code
    • About Microsoft Points
    • Policy Information
  • Enable/Disable Auto Sign-In: Lets you determine auto sign-in status for the current profile. Only one profile at a time may have auto sign-in status. If you're concerned about others with access to your console using your profile, it's best to disable auto sign-in and set an Xbox Live pass code.
