Xbox 360 Memory Units

Xbox 360™ Memory Units extend the Xbox 360 experience by providing a portable way to take your saved game and gamer profile to a friend's place. You can also use memory units to store and transport content downloads from Xbox Live Marketplace.

Important

If you're using the Xbox 360 Core system and don't have an Xbox 360 Hard Drive, you'll need a memory unit to activate either your free Xbox Live Silver membership or paid Xbox Live Gold membership.

Storage

The storage size of each memory unit is indicated on the front end of the unit. With an Xbox 360 Memory Unit, you can:

  • Create an Xbox Live account.
  • Save games and other gaming info.
  • Store anything you like, apart from music, up to its available capacity.
  • Copy any item on a memory unit to another Xbox 360 memory unit or to an Xbox 360 Hard Drive.
  • Personalize it by giving it a name.

The memory unit offers 2-MB/second write speed and 8-MB/second read speed. You can free space on a memory unit by deleting items or copying them to another Xbox 360 storage device. Xbox 360 Memory Units are designed to work only with Xbox 360 consoles.

If you're looking for more storage space, consider the Xbox 360 Hard Drive.
