Instructions on how to enter form part of the conditions of entry. By participating entrants agree to be bound by these conditions.
Entry is open to residents of Australia aged 15 years and over and residents of New Zealand aged 18 years and over . Employees of the Promoter, suppliers and associated companies and agencies, and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
Entrants must be members "in good standing" on the Xbox forums ( http://forums.xbox.com). Ie. not having been banned within the last 6 months.
Entrants must post their Tips & Tricks entry using a Gold Xbox LIVE gamercard with any gamerscore, or a Silver Xbox LIVE gamercard with a gamerscore higher than zero.
To be eligible for entry in the current month competition entrants must not be a winner, or a runner up winner, in any of the previous month's eXpert competitions.
The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who the Promoter believes either has tampered with the entry process or has submitted an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions.
The competition commences at 9:00am (Sydney time) on the first Monday of each competition month and closes at 5:00pm (Sydney time) on the last Friday of each competition month. Only one entry per person will be considered during each competition month. Any additional entries submitted by entrants during a competition month will not be considered.
To enter, the entrant must write a Tips & Tricks article of no more than 750 words, no less than 500 words, on an Xbox 360™ game (includes Xbox Live® Arcade games) which has been released during, or within 1 month prior to, the relevant competition month, and has not been posted as a previous months winning Community Tips & Tricks article (www.xbox.com/en-NZ/community/experts/ ).The Tips & Tricks must be based on the full version of the relevant game and not a demonstration or cut down version, and must include a title. Entries must be submitted via the Xbox Forum website ( http://forums.xbox.com) as a new posted thread in the "Australia General Discussion" forum, with the thread title in the format of "TIPS & TRICKS - [name of game covered]".
All entries must be the original work of the entrant. Any entrant found to have plagiarised the work of another person will face penalties or be banned from the Xbox forums.
By participating in this competition, each entrant warrants that their entry is original and has not previously been published, released or distributed, and does not infringe any third party’s rights (including moral rights) in any other works anywhere in the world.
This is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winners. All valid entries received by the closing date will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Promoter. Each entry will be individually judged according to its originality and creativity. The judges' decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. No responsibility is accepted for entries not received by the Promoter. Entries will be deemed void if stolen, forged, mutilated or tampered with in any way.
All entries are deemed to be received at the time of receipt into the Xbox forums database and not at the time of transmission by the entrant.
The winners will be judged at the Promoter's office within two weeks of the closing date and all reasonable efforts will be made to notify the winners by email and or phone within five days of judging.
The entry judged to be the best will win either a promotional or retail copy of the Xbox 360 video game (at the Promoter’s discretion) to be awarded that competition month as advertised on www.xbox.com/en-NZ/community/experts/ . The promotional copy of this game has no retail value and cannot be resold. The prize value of the retail copy of the game is as advertised on www.xbox.com/en-NZ/community/experts/ .
Prize values are the recommended retail prices (inclusive of GST) as provided by the supplier of the prizes. The Promoter will not be responsible for any change in the value of a prize.
The prizes are not exchangeable, transferable and not redeemable for cash. If the Promoter is unable to supply a nominated prize, the Promoter reserves the right to supply another prize of equal or greater value at its discretion. The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies accept no responsibility for prizes lost or damaged in transit.
In the event that a prize is not claimed the judges will select an alternate winner to receive the prize.
Subject to any applicable law which cannot be excluded, the Promoter and its related bodies corporate shall not be held liable for any loss, damage or injury suffered or sustained (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss or loss arising from negligence), arising directly or indirectly out of or in connection with the competition or any prize.
All entrants must be contactable on their existing My Xbox account details to be included in the competition.
By participating in this competition, each entrant indemnifies the Promoter from and against all actions, proceedings, costs, damages, claims, demands, expenses, loss and liabilities whatsoever arising from or by reason of any breach by him/her of the warranties contained in these terms and conditions.
The Promoter assumes no responsibility for, and the entrant releases the Promoter from responsibility for, any failure to receive an entry or for inaccurate information or for any loss, claim, damage or injury to person or property (including computer systems and servers) as a result of the entrant’s participation in this competition or the conduct of the competition generally or as a direct or indirect result of an entrant’s error, any technical problem of any kind including communications or network failure, unauthorised access to, transferring or theft of data, whether caused by the entrant or associated with the equipment or programming used in the conduct of this competition. If, because of any such problem, this competition is not able to be conducted as planned and/or the competition’s administration, security, fairness or integrity are compromised or affected, the Promoter may cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition and/or disqualify any entrant involved in interfering or tampering with the conduct of this competition in any way.
Any costs associated with entering the competition and accessing the website are the responsibility of the entrant.
All entries submitted become the property of the Promoter and will not be returned. All entrants consent to the Promoter using the entrant's name and "Tips & Tricks" entry in any media for an unlimited period of time without remuneration for the purpose of promoting this competition (including any outcome), and promoting any products manufactured, distributed and/or supplied by the Promoter.
Privacy Statement: Details from all entries will be collected and used for the purposes of conducting this promotion (which may include disclosure to third parties for the purpose of processing and conducting the promotion) and for publicity purposes surrounding this promotion. By entering this promotion entrants consent to the use of their information as described. Entrants may access and/or change their data by following the procedures in the Promoter's privacy policy which is available at http://privacy.microsoft.com/en-nz/default.mspx. The Promoter will only use your personal details for marketing purposes outside those described above if you “opt in” to join the mailing list when prompted.
