Xbox 360 Hard Drive

The Xbox 360™ Hard Drive—included with the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system and sold separately for the Xbox 360 Core system—lets you save games, save music and create custom playlists, download new content from Xbox Live, and play original Xbox games.

The hard drive has a 20-GB storage capacity and comes pre-loaded with high-definition bonus content, including Hexic HD, a popular puzzle game.

Designed for use exclusively with Xbox 360, the Xbox 360 Hard Drive clicks snugly into the hard drive bay of the Xbox 360 console. (Be sure to power down the system before inserting or removing the hard drive.)

Storage

You can think of the hard drive as a memory unit with virtually unlimited storage. With an Xbox 360 Hard Drive, you can:

  • Create an Xbox Live membership. (You can also create an Xbox Live membership if you have an Xbox 360 Memory Unit.)
  • Save your games and other gaming info.
  • Save downloadable content, including demos and trailers—
  • Play games designed for the original Xbox video game system.
  • Rip audio CDs to 192-kbps Microsoft Windows Media Audio (WMA) files and store hundreds of songs to listen to as albums or build into custom playlists.
  • Copy stored items (other than music) to a memory unit, connected PC, or connected USB device.
  • Delete stored items to free up space.

You can even personalize a hard drive by giving it a name!
