Phew it’s… Summer of Arcade!
Summer of Arcade is back, and if you were here last year we bet we already have your full attention. Last year’s Summer of Arcade debut delivered the Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards winner “Castle Crashers”, to remind everyone of the kind of quality in store. The line-up this season sees you and your pals yet again treated to the very best Xbox LIVE Arcade has to offer during five weeks of exclusive gaming.
Starting 22 July, Xbox LIVE Arcade celebrates summer with blockbuster games available before anywhere else or indeed nowhere else: The hugely anticipated shoot ’em up “Shadow Complex” and innovative motocross challenge “Trials HD” have been created exclusively for Xbox 360.
Without further ado here are five very important dates for your calendar:
22 July
“Splosion Man” by Twisted Pixel Games/Microsoft
800 Microsoft Points, 12 Month exclusive on Xbox LIVE Arcade
From the creators of LIVE Arcade favourite “The Maw” comes a new superhero who can explode at will. Beat that for dynamism! Enemies have much to fear, but players must also use Splosion Man’s skills to solve puzzles and escape over 50 single-player levels. There are also 50 multiplayer levels to blast through with friends.
29 July
“Marvel vs. Capcom 2” by Backbone Entertainment/Capcom
1200 Microsoft Points, Two week exclusive on Xbox LIVE Arcade
Who would win in a fight: Street Fighter champion Ryu or X-Men legend Wolverine? “Marvel vs. Capcom 2” is the ultimate arena for you to find out with 56 heroes hailing from Capcom and Marvel. MVC2 as the fans call it regularly features in prestigious tournaments, now you can take the fight online via multiplayer across Xbox LIVE.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time Re-shelled” by (Ubisoft Singapore/Ubisoft)

Celebrating its 25th Anniversary this year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time gets a 3D graphical overhaul not to mention an even longer awesome name! The classic 1980’s arcade gameplay remains for “… Re-shelled” which is just the way we like it, but wait until you see some of the new special effects!

“Trials HD” by RedLynx/Microsoft

Prepare to hear your heart beating in your ears as you attempt the impossible. You’ll hurtle around 50 unique motocross tracks designed to test your ‘Race’ and ‘Skill’ capabilities. If you think you’ve an idea for something even more fiendish, you can create share and download an unlimited number of free tracks with the level editor.

“Shadow Complex” by Chair Entertainment and Epic Games/Microsoft

The next evolution in downloadable games! “Shadow Complex” is the award-winning shoot ’em up that turned heads during the E3 videogames show in Los Angeles.
