A gripping tale set against the backdrop of post apocalyptic Moscow makes Metro 2033 a journey to remember. And THQ is bringing the console edition of this action packed first-person shooter exclusively to Xbox 360 in 2010.
Metro 2033 is based on the best-selling 2005 Russian novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky. The game world owes its amazing atmosphere to the creative team, 4A Games, working closely with the celebrated author. You’ll find this story of underground survival to be uncommonly intense, indeed the fate of mankind is in your hands!
In the game, as with Glukhovsky’s novel, it is the year 2033. Twenty years previously an apocalyptic event destroyed almost all of mankind, however a small group of people managed to survive by descending deep into the Moscow underground. It is too dangerous to venture above ground, because the earth’s surface is a poisonous wasteland patrolled by mutants.
As Artyom, the hero of our tale born just before ‘the fire’, you must venture beyond the safety of your Metro Station City, and travel to the centre of the Metro System to warn other survivors of another colossal threat that could mean the end of mankind.
If you’d like to investigate the world of Metro 2033, the English language version of the book is published this year in the UK (it’s already available in Germany). There’s also the official trailer now available to watch at Metro2033Game.com.
