You know that if zombies did exist, the world’s top scientists say we wouldn’t stand a chance. With that in mind allow us to introduce another What if? scenario newly available via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 exclusive Left 4 Dead.
“Crash Course” is an all-new campaign, taking place shortly after the “No Mercy” chapter that we know has been scaring you witless in private. In Crash Course you and your cosy 37 degrees Celsius pals march against the zombies in 1-4 player co-operative, Versus and Survival modes. The first thing you’ll realise is that the escape chopper from the closing scenes of No Mercy didn’t quite live up to all expectations. Let’s just say it didn’t arrive on time or anywhere close to the right place.
While you’re figuring out who to blame and how to survive, you might like to think some happy thoughts. So here’s one for nothing: the eagerly anticipated sequel to Left 4 Dead is coming to Xbox 360 exclusively on 20 November. It’ll be much larger than the original, bringing new boss zombies requiring new weapons and items to defeat. Melee combat will also play a bigger part, encouraging you to stay close to fellow survivors using chainsaws, axes…and saucepans. Fresh faced co-op and versus campaigns are also joining the party that begins this autumn.
We’ll leave you with the tantalising thought that there’s a cool secret to uncover in Crash Course which links to Left 4 Dead 2. In fact even we don’t know what it is, you’d need to ask Valve who are making the game. And they won’t tell you.
