Twice the action, twice the combat, treble the fun!
Little men, big weapons, massive destruction and explosive, multi-vehicular combat for one or two players. Yes, we’ll have some of that, thanks.
Yes indeed, Assault Heroes returns to Xbox LIVE Arcade – bigger, better and badder than ever. And that’s ‘bad’ meaning ‘awesome’ not ‘nasty’, in case there’s any confusion. Although some of the horrific bosses you’ll encounter during your quest to save mankind from a sinister alien force might make you think the latter. Shudder… Okay, what lifts Assault Heroes 2 above its award-winning prequel? In short everything – to borrow a phrase from Spinal Tap AH2 takes everything that made the original such an outrageous blast and turns it up to 11! On-foot or in any of the game’s many vehicles, battling your way to level-end is a relentless onslaught of whizzing munitions, destructible environments and a bad-tempered enemy force that refuses to acknowledge the concept of ‘surrender’. Fortunately you’ve an arsenal of superior weapons and a motor pool of powerful tanks, helicopters and even spacecraft at your disposal – some of which you can hijack from the enemy. Very cool! The gameplay has been overhauled too. The single-player game’s a riot, as always, but playing with a mate is a ton more fun. To which end AH2’s two-player game has been boosted with a new gameplay modes, spectacular co-op weapons to obliterate your opponents and a killer online option. And then there are those bosses – mechanoid, monstrous and hell-bent on your immediate destruction. You won’t be sending these bad-boys home to mama without a fight. All told if you’re a fan of quality blasting action Assault Heroes 2 is going to rock your world off its axis. May 14th and 800 Microsoft Points is the crucial information. We’re guessing we don’t need to tell you what to do with it! |
