Rock Band hits the road
Calling all drummers, guitarists, bassists and vocalists. It’s time to step up and strut, kick and strum your way to the top of the Xbox 360 pops for a chance to kick back like rock star royalty.
Launched today in Ibiza, ‘Xbox 360 Presents Rock Band Live’ is a series of events that offer players in the U.K, France and Germany the chance to start their own group and find fame and fortune on Xbox.com. The fun takes the form of a series of ‘live’ gigs across all three countries, where fans can perform songs from artists such as David Bowie, The Clash, Jet, Les Wampas and Die Toten Hosen. Every performance is then scrutinised by MTV and celebrity Rock Band aficionados, Maximo Park, who will choose the best of the bunch to win a week’s holiday at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel. Rock on! While bands wanting to try out will have to be able to play their virtual instruments well, the judges are also looking for that extra special something: Star Quality. “From outrageous outfits and haircuts to amazing postural performances we are looking for a group who give us all of this and more too!” says Maximo Park frontman Paul Smith. As well as being huge fans of the Xbox 360 game, Maximo Park are presenting their acclaimed track “Girls Who Play Guitars” for download and play from Tuesday 10th June. This brings the number of Rock Band songs available from Xbox LIVE to over 110.
