The three stages to getting Wanadoo Broadband for XboxLive
Follow these step-by-step instructions carefully to get online with Wanadoo Broadband. We suggest you print out these instructions now and keep them for future reference. Stage 1. Need a broadband connection? If you already have an active Wanadoo Broadband connection, you can skip to Stage 2 below. Check availability and place an order for a Wanadoo Broadband connection by clicking here and following the instructions. Before proceeding to Stage 2 below, please wait until your Wanadoo Broadband line is activated this normally takes place around 10 working days from when you place your order. Stage 2. Got broadband already (or have a confirmed order in hand) but need a router or Xbox Live starter kit? If you already have your Xbox Live Starter Kit and an Xbox-compatible router, you can skip to Stage 3 below. You will need to purchase an Xbox Live compatible router which will enable you to connect your PC and Xbox to your broadband line. Wanadoo recommends the SpeedTouch 510 Ethernet router, which can be purchased from independent supplier DSL Shop. For your convenience, DSL Shop can also supply, if required, your Xbox Live Starter Kit, extra ADSL filters, and extra Ethernet cabling (eg. if your PC is in a different room to your Xbox). Items purchased should normally be dispatched within 48 hours. Stage 3. Got your router, your Xbox Live Starter Kit, and an active broadband connection? Then you're ready to set up and register for Xbox Live, following the instructions received with your router and XboxLive Starter Kit. Alternatively, you can refer to the set-up instructions below. Before following any connection steps below, you should print or save an offline version of this page, as you will need to disconnect your PC from the Internet. Also, before following any connection steps, see your Xbox Instruction Manual for important safety information. Router Connection with Wanadoo Broadband 
To share your Wanadoo Broadband Internet connection with your PC using the Thomson 510 Ethernet router: - Turn off your devices (Xbox console, router, modem, and PC) before connecting any cables.
You might need to disconnect your modem from its power source to turn it off. - Disconnect from the PC and the telephone socket any Broadband hardware, such as a USB modem, which may have been connected.
- Connect your Thomson router to your PC or Mac using the supplied Ethernet cable: plug one end into a port on the rear of the router, and the other to an available Ethernet connection on the PC/Mac
- To connect your Thomson router to your Xbox console. Connect one end of a second Ethernet cable (additional Ethernet cables are available from here) to an available port on the router, connect the other end to the Ethernet port to the back of your Xbox.
- Next connect your router to an available telephone socket using the telephone cable supplied. (type RJ11): plug one end of the telephone cable into the DSL port on the rear of the router and the other end into the 'data' socket of an Broadband microfilter (two of which are supplied with the router - extra ones can be purchased if needed from here). Then plug the microfilter into the telephone socket.
- Connect your router to a power supply using the cable and adaptor supplied.
- Turn on your router and PC. You should turn them on in order from the wall jack out. This means, first turn on your router, then your PC but do not turn on your Xbox yet.
- Insert the CD that was sent with your Thomson 510.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to install and configure your Thomson 510
- Verify that the PC can access the Internet. If not, see Troubleshooting Your Connection with Wanadoo.
- From the Xbox Dashboard, choose Settings, Network Settings, and then Connect.
Your settings are now used to connect to Xbox Live. Progress is displayed on the Connect Status screen. If the last item is "Connected to Xbox Live," congratulations! You are connected to Xbox Live.
To create your Xbox Live account, or for more information about managing your account, see Signing Up for Xbox Live. If your Xbox console cannot automatically connect to XboxLive, you will receive the following message: "Could not connect to Xbox Live. " See Troubleshooting Your Connection with Wanadoo Broadband for more detailed information about the problem and steps you can take to fix it. Note With a router connection once set up, you do not need to turn on your PC to access Xbox Livefrom your Xbox console. It is possible to connect your Xbox to your broadband line without the need for a router, using a PC with an installed Ethernet card, an ADSL modem, and Windows networking. Wanadoo do not recommend or support this solution, but set-up instructions are availablehere.
