How do I switch to BT Total Broadband?

It doesn't have to be difficult - We've made switching to BT Broadband easy:

• A few simple steps and you could be connected within five days
• Non-cable customers only need a MAC code to switch and cable customers simply need a BT line

You can apply to switch to BT Total Broadband easily over the internet. Everything you need to connect will be sent through the post on your selected delivery and activation day. On the day of activation, it can take as little as 30 minutes to transfer over to your BT Broadband connection.

We have even made switching your email account easy - BT Total Broadband includes BT Yahoo! TrueSwitch™. This takes the hassle out of switching by letting your friends and family know your new BT email address and diverting emails from your old address to your new one for 30 days. It's fast, free and means you won't lose touch with anyone.

Obtaining your MAC code (for non-cable customers only)

Firstly, you need to phone your current provider and request your MAC code. A MAC code makes the switch from your provider to BT simple and quick with no disruption to your broadband service - call them and they´ll give you a number that should look like these examples:

  Please note - your MAC Code is only valid for 30 days after it is issued. If you have not completed your online application before this date you will need to apply for a new one.

Now you're ready to switch!
