1 vs 100 Live
What is 1 vs 100 Live?
1 vs 100 Live is a two-hour live game show. Each episode features live gameplay between players, prizewinning, multiple rounds, plus a host who comments on the action.
What is The One and The Mob and how can I be one?
1 vs 100 Live has a featured player known as The One. The One plays against the 100 players who make up The Mob.
Players sign up for a chance to be selected as The One or in The Mob when they first enter the game lobby, and a new One and Mob are selected at the beginning of each round. Players qualify to be The One or in The Mob based on score—Season Score, Weekly Score, or Previous Round Score.
The One and The Mob compete for prizes such as Microsoft Points and Xbox LIVE Arcade games in 1 vs 100 Live. Players who are not selected as The One or The Mob play in The Crowd.

How is 1 vs 100 Live played?
All players, regardless of role (Mob, One, Crowd), try to answer trivia questions correctly for score. The consequences of a wrong answer depend on the role the player occupies: The One, part of The Mob, or part of The Crowd.
The One moves up a prize ladder with each correct answer—the more Mob members The One knocks out, the more Microsoft Points and other prizes he or she stands to earn. The One wins the game and the prizes if he or she eliminates all the members of The Mob. If time runs out, and The One has not eliminated all Mob members, it’s a draw. The One loses if he or she answers a single question incorrectly—and that means all the remaining Mob members win the game. If The One had reached a prize level, the matching Mob prize level (not an even split of The One’s winnings) is awarded to remaining Mob members.
Members of The Mob who miss a question are sent to The Crowd, where they can still play the game, earn entries to the 1 vs 100 Sweepstakes , and play for the honor of being in the round’s Top 3 scorers.
What if I’m late to the game?
A player can join an episode already in progress in 1 vs 100 Live, either by plugging in a controller and signing-on or through an Invitation from someone already in the game who is on their Friends list. If you join a round in progress, you will be seated in The Crowd, but will become eligible for The One and The Mob at the start of the next round.
How many rounds make up 1 vs 100 Live?
A new Round will begin after a new One is chosen and The Mob is repopulated. The number of times this happens per episode is variable, but new rounds will only start after a given contestant’s (The One) succession of questions is concluded.
What does the “Money or Mob” choice mean?
At several points during a 1 vs 100 Live round, The One will be given the choice of “The Money or The Mob”. If The One chooses the money, he or she takes the accumulated winnings and the round is over. If The One chooses The Mob, the round continues.

And what are these “Helps” I’m hearing about in 1 vs 100 Live?
During any question, after the timer appears, and before it runs out, The One can press and hold Y to use a Help, which provides The One with an answer to the question. It is not necessarily a correct answer, but represents consensus amongst the different player roles into which helps are grouped.
The Helps are:
-Trust the Mob : The One’s answer becomes the most popular answer among The Mob.
-Trust the Crowd : The One’s answer becomes the most popular answer among The Crowd.
-Trust the Top 10 : The One’s answer becomes the most popular answer among the round’s Top 10 players.
When The One successfully uses a Help, the full question’s value—minus speed bonus—is applied to The One’s score.
How do I get to be The One? Can I be The One more than once?
You must have an adult Xbox LIVE account and select “Public” as your 1 vs 100 Privacy setting. This makes you eligible to be The One but it doesn’t guarantee that you’ll be selected.
No player will be allowed to step into the role of The One more than once per season.
How do I get into The Mob? Can I be in The Mob more than once?
You must select “Public” as your 1 vs 100 Privacy setting. This doesn’t guarantee you’ll be in The Mob, but it makes you eligible for possible selection at the staging of any given round.
It is possible to be in The Mob multiple times in one season. You will be eligible to qualify for The Mob until you do one of the following:
-Get a question wrong as a Mob member, or
-Win a prize as a Mob member.
What does the below symbol mean?

This is the symbol for Microsoft Points. Microsoft Points are at stake in 1 vs 100 Live shows.
I was in The Mob, but I got a question wrong. Can I keep playing?
Yes! Members of The Mob who miss a question are sent to The Crowd, where they can still play the game. Members of The Crowd play for entries to the 1 vs 100 Sweepstakes and for the honor of being in the round’s Top 3 scorers.
1 vs 100 Extended Play
What is 1 vs 100 Extended Play?
1 vs 100 Extended Play is a different 1 vs 100 experience, available through Xbox LIVE, with two episodes an hour at regularly scheduled times.
In Extended Play there is no One and no Crowd--all players appear in a single Mob. Everyone who joins the game is seated in the same Mob, which is scalable well past one hundred players (it could be made up of thousands and thousands of players).
Playing Extended Play games increases your Season Score and Weekly Score, factors in selection as The One or The Mob in 1 vs 100 Live games.
What if I’m late to a 1 vs 100 Extended Play episode?
As in 1 vs 100 Live, players can join a game already in progress, either by plugging in a controller and signing-on, or through an Invitation from someone already in the game who is on their Friends list.
Can I play 1 vs 100 Extended Play while 1 vs 100 Live is on air?
Extended Play episodes are not available while 1 vs 100 Live episodes are in progress.
What does the shield icon in my player widget mean?
This means you have earned a “Safety”.
What’s a “Safety” and what do I do with one?
In Extended Play, if a player correctly answers three questions in a row, he or she is awarded a Safety, represented by a shield in the player widget. Players can use a Safety rather than answer a question without losing their built-up Streak bonus (which can grow to be quite beneficial). A Safety scores the same as answering the question correctly—minus speed bonus. You can use a Safety after you select an answer if you second-guess yourself (and you’re quick enough)!
A player can carry a maximum of three Safeties at any time. Safeties are worthless if left unused, and they will expire at the end of each round.
1 vs 100 Prizing
How can I win skill-based prizes playing 1 vs 100?
1 vs 100 Live shows offer skill-based prizing, with The One and The Mob competing for prize winnings.
In 1 vs 100 Live, The One moves up a prize ladder with each correct answer—the more Mob members The One knocks out, the more Microsoft Points and other prizes he or she stands to earn.

Joining in Progress
What happens when I join a game in progress?
When you join a 1 vs 100 Season 2 Live episode in progress you are automatically seated in (and take the role of) the Crowd. You’re unable to become The One or a member of The Mob in the round which you join in progress. If your Privacy setting is “Public,” you will gain eligibility at the staging of the next round of play in that same episode (if applicable). You may not be able to join a 1 vs 100 Season 2 Live episode that is already full.
When joining 1 vs 100 Season 2 Extended Play in progress, you’ll pick up the action at the next available question.
I tried to join a game in progress. Why did I end up in the next game?
There may have been no slots left in the game at the time you tried to join. Or, you may not have correctly followed the procedures to join a game. It’s also possible that the game in progress may have been winding down. You can’t join a game in progress that is nearly over.
