ELIGIBILITY: This competition is open to any person resident in the UK who is 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Microsoft or its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotion agencies are not eligible, nor are members of these employees’ families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouse and life partners).
TO ENTER: Entry into this competition may only be made by persons who attend a local event. Entry can be as an individual or as a group of 2, 3 or 4 persons. To enter you will be required to play Rock Band on Xbox 360 and have your performance to the game filmed at the event. Entries will be to a selected list of songs from the game – this list will be available to view at each local event. Only one entry per person or group will be accepted. Entries may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of Microsoft. Entry constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Microsoft reserve the right to disqualify anyone in breach of these Terms and Conditions.
TIMING: This competition runs from 5th June. The closing date of this competition is 19th June.
USE OF DATA: Personal data which you provide when you enter this competition may be used for future Microsoft marketing activity. If you agree to this use, please sign the consent on the permissions release form for the event.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Performances (entries to the competition) at local events will be judged based on style and creativity of the performance. An independent judge at each event will determine which entries are shortlisted to go through to the judging panel. Shortlisted entries will be hosted on the promotion website. An independent judging panel will then choose winners based on the above criteria. The winner will be notified by 26th June. The winner may be required to become involved in further publicity or advertising.
PRIZE: The prize is a trip for the winner or group (maximum 4 people) to attend the Xbox Weekender event in Ibiza from 7th September 2008 through to 14th September 2008. A maximum of 5 winning bands consisting of up to 4 persons each will go to Ibiza. Each winning band can take 4 people in total. So, for example, if a winning band has only 2 members in it they can take 2 additional friends with them making a total of 4 people. The prize will include return flights, return VIP transfer to and from Ibiza airport to hotel, 7 nights shared accommodation at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel, tickets to the Xbox Weekender event and £200 spending money per person. Prize as stated and non transferable. Flights will be booked by Microsoft and are not changeable. It will be the winner(s) responsibility to ensure they arrive at the airport in good time to catch their flights. No cash or other alternatives available. Microsoft reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. The prize details will be sent by 26th June
WINNERS LIST: The winner consents to their surname being made publicly available. The winners surname will be available for a period of 30 days after the closing date by the promoter
OTHER: No correspondence will be entered into regarding either this competition or these Terms and Conditions. In the unlikely event of a dispute, Microsoft’s decision shall be final. Microsoft reserve the right to amend, modify, cancel or withdraw this competition at any time without notice.
Microsoft cannot guarantee the performance of any third party and shall not be liable for any act or default by a third party. Participants in this promotion agree that Microsoft will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, costs, damage or disappointment of any kind resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly from acceptance, misuse or use of a prize, or from participation in this promotion. Nothing in this clause shall limit Microsoft’s liability in respect of death or personal injury arising out of its own negligence or arising out of fraud.
